An-Nadr bin Kathir Abu Sahl Al-Aszidi said: Abdullah bin Tawus prayed beside me at Mina, in Masjid Al-Khaif, and when he made the first prostration he raised his head and raised his hands up to his face. I found that strange and I said to Wuhaib bin Khalid: This man does something that I have never seen anyone do. Wuhaib said to him: 'You do something that I have never seen anyone do.' Abdullah bin Tawus said: 'I saw my father do it, and my father said: I saw Ibn 'Abbas do it and 'Abullah bin Abbas said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) doing it.'
أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُوسَى الْبَصْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَبُو سَهْلٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّى إِلَى جَنْبِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ بِمِنًى فِي مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ فَكَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ السَّجْدَةَ الْأُولَى فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْهَا رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ فَأَنْكَرْتُ أَنَا ذَلِكَ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لِوُهَيْبِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ إِنَّ هَذَا يَصْنَعُ شَيْئًا لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يَصْنَعُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ وَهَيْبٌ تَصْنَعُ شَيْئًا لَمْ نَرَ أَحَدًا يَصْنَعُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ أَبِي يَصْنَعُهُ وَقَالَ أَبِي:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَصْنَعُهُ وَقَالَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُهُ.
نضر بن کثیر ابوسہل ازدی کہتے ہیں کہ   عبداللہ بن طاؤس نے منیٰ میں مسجد خیف میں میرے پہلو میں نماز پڑھی، تو انہوں نے جب پہلا سجدہ کیا، اور سجدے سے اپنا سر اٹھایا تو اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کو چہرے کے بالمقابل اٹھایا، مجھے یہ بات عجیب لگی تو میں نے وہیب بن خالد سے کہا کہ یہ ایسا کام کر رہے ہیں جو میں نے کبھی کسی کو کرتے نہیں دیکھا؟، تو وہیب نے ان سے کہا: آپ ایسا کام کرتے ہیں جسے ہم نے کسی کو کرتے نہیں دیکھا؟ اس پر عبداللہ بن طاؤس نے کہا: میں نے اپنے والد کو ایسا کرتے دیکھا ہے، اور میرے والد نے کہا: میں نے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم کو ایسا کرتے دیکھا ہے، اور عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہم نے کہا: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ایسا کرتے دیکھا ہے۔

It was narrated that Maimunah said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prostrated, he would hold his arms out to his sides, so that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen from behind. And when he sat he rested on his left thigh.

Then he said when he was standing: 'Rabbana lakal-hamd.' Then he said the takbir when he went down in prostration, then he said the takbir when he raised his head, and he did that throughout the entire prayer until he finished it, and he said the takbir when he stood up after the first two rak'ahs, after sitting.
