Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: I and the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to take bath with a brass vessel.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي صَاحِبٌ لِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ أَغْتَسِلُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي تَوْرٍ مِنْ شَبَهٍ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دونوں پیتل کے ایک ہی برتن میں غسل کرتے تھے۔ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دونوں پیتل کے ایک ہی برتن میں غسل کرتے تھے۔

Narrated Abdullah ibn Zayd: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came upon us. We brought water for him in a brass vessel and he performed ablution.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The prayer of a person who does not perform ablution is not valid, and the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah (in the beginning) is not valid.

Explaining the tradition of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم that the ablution of a person who does not mention the name of Allah is valid, Rabiah said: This tradition means that if a person performs ablution and takes a bath but does not have the intention to perform ablution for prayer and purify himself from sexual defilement, his ablution or bath is not valid.
