Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out, and on seeing a high-domed building, he said: What is it? His companions replied to him: It belongs to so and so, one of the Ansar. He said: he said nothing but kept the matter in mind. When its owner came and gave him a greeting among the people, he turned away from him. When he had done this several times, the man realised that he was the cause of the anger and the rebuff. So he complained about it to his companions, saying: I swear by Allah that I cannot understand the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. They said: He went out and saw your domed building. So the man returned to it and demolished it, levelling it to the ground. One day the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out and did not see it. He asked: What has happened to the domed building? They replied: Its owner complained to us about your rebuff, and when we informed him about it, he demolished it. He said: Every building is a misfortune for its owner, except what cannot, except what cannot, meaning except that which is essential.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْأَسَدِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ،‏‏‏‏ فَرَأَى قُبَّةً مُشْرِفَةً،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا هَذِهِ ؟ قَالَ لَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ:‏‏‏‏ هَذِهِ لِفُلَانٍ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَسَكَتَ وَحَمَلَهَا فِي نَفْسِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا جَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّاسِ،‏‏‏‏ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ صَنَعَ ذَلِكَ مِرَارًا حَتَّى عَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ الْغَضَبَ فِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَالْإِعْرَاضَ عَنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَشَكَا ذَلِكَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُنْكِرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجَ،‏‏‏‏ فَرَأَى قُبَّتَكَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَجَعَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى قُبَّتِهِ فَهَدَمَهَا،‏‏‏‏ حَتَّى سَوَّاهَا بِالْأَرْضِ،‏‏‏‏ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَلَمْ يَرَهَا،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا فَعَلَتِ الْقُبَّةُ ؟،‏‏‏‏ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ شَكَا إِلَيْنَا صَاحِبُهَا إِعْرَاضَكَ عَنْهُ فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ فَهَدَمَهَا،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَا إِنَّ كُلَّ بِنَاءٍ وَبَالٌ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ،‏‏‏‏ إِلَّا مَا لَا إِلَّا مَا لَا يَعْنِي مَا لَا بُدَّ مِنْهُ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نکلے ( راہ میں ) ایک اونچا قبہ دیکھا تو فرمایا: یہ کیا ہے؟ تو آپ کے اصحاب نے بتایا کہ یہ فلاں انصاری کا مکان ہے، آپ یہ سن کر چپ ہو رہے اور بات دل میں رکھ لی، پھر جب صاحب مکان رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور لوگوں کی موجودگی میں آپ کو سلام کیا تو آپ نے اس سے اعراض کیا ( نہ اس کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے نہ اسے جواب دیا ) ایسا کئی بار ہوا، یہاں تک کہ اسے معلوم ہو گیا کہ آپ اس سے ناراض ہیں اور اس سے اعراض فرما رہے ہیں تو اس نے اپنے دوستوں سے اس بات کی شکایت کی اور کہا: قسم اللہ کی! میں اپنے ساتھ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت و برتاؤ میں تبدیلی محسوس کرتا ہوں، تو لوگوں نے بتایا کہ: آپ ایک روز باہر نکلے تھے اور تیرا قبہ ( مکان ) دیکھا تھا ( شاید اسی مکان کو دیکھ کر آپ ناراض ہوئے ہوں ) یہ سن کر وہ واپس اپنے مکان پر آیا، اور اسے ڈھا دیا، حتیٰ کہ اسے ( توڑ تاڑ کر ) زمین کے برابر کر دیا، پھر ایک روز رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نکلے اور اس مکان کو نہ دیکھا تو فرمایا: وہ مکان کیا ہوا، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: مالک مکان نے ہم سے آپ کی اس سے بے التفاتی کی شکایت کی، ہم نے اسے بتا دیا، تو اس نے اسے گرا دیا، آپ نے فرمایا: سن لو ہر مکان اپنے مالک کے لیے وبال ہے، سوائے اس مکان کے جس کے بغیر چارہ و گزارہ نہ ہو ۔

Narrated Dukayn ibn Saeed al-Muzani: We came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and asked him for some corn. He said: Go, Umar, and give them. He ascended with us a room upstairs, took a key from his apartment and opened it.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Habashi: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If anyone cuts the lote-tree, Allah brings him headlong into Hell. Abu Dawud was asked about the meaning of this tradition. He said: This is a brief tradition. It means that if anyone cuts uselessly, unjustly and without any right a lote-tree under the shade of which travellers and beasts take shelter, Allah will bring him into Hell headlong.

A similar report (as previous) was narrated from a man from Thaqif, from Urwah bin Az-Zubair, who attributed the Hadith to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

Narrated Hassan ibn Ibrahim: I asked Hisham ibn Urwah about the cutting of a lote-tree when he was leaning against the house of Urwah. He said: Do you not see these doors and leaves? These were made of the lote-tree of Urwah which Urwah used to cut from his hand? He said: There is no harm in it. Humayd's version adds: You have brought an innovation, O Iraqi! He said: The innovation is from you. I heard someone say at Makkah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم cursed him who cuts a lote-tree. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

Narrated Abu Buraydah: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: A human being has three hundred and sixty joints for each of which he must give alms. The people asked him: Who is capable of doing this ? He replied: It may be mucus in the mosque which you bury, and something which you remove from the road; but if you do not find such, two rak'ahs in the forenoon will be sufficient for you.

Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: In the morning alms are due from every bone in man's fingers and toes. Salutation to everyone he meets is alms; enjoining good is alms; forbidding what is disreputable is alms; removing what is harmful from the road is alms; having sexual intercourse with his wife is alms. The people asked: He fulfils his desire, Messenger of Allah; is it alms? He replied: Tell me if he fulfilled his desire where he had no right, would he commit a sin ? He then said: Two rak'ahs which one prays in the forenoon serve instead of all that. Abu Dawud said: Hammad did not mention enjoining good and forbidding what is disreputable.
