Narrated al-Wazi ibn Zari: Umm Aban, daughter of al-Wazi ibn Zari, quoting his grandfather, who was a member of the deputation of AbdulQays, said: When we came to Madina, we raced to be first to dismount and kiss the hand and foot of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. But al-Mundhir al-Ashajj waited until he came to the bundle of his clothes. He put on his two garments and then he went to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said to him: You have two characteristics which Allah likes: gentleness and deliberation. He asked: Have I acquired them or has Allah has created (them) my nature? He replied: No, Allah has created (them) in your nature. He then said: Praise be to Allah Who has created in my nature two characteristics which Allah and His Messenger like.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنُ الطَّبَّاعِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَطَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْنَقُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمُّ أَبَانَ بِنْتُ الْوَازِعِ بْنِ زَارِعٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ جِدِّهَا زَارِعٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ فِي وَفْدِ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ،‏‏‏‏ فَجَعَلْنَا نَتَبَادَرُ مِنْ رَوَاحِلِنَا،‏‏‏‏ فَنُقَبِّلُ يَدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرِجْلَهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَانْتَظَرَ الْمُنْذِرُ الْأَشَجُّ حَتَّى أَتَى عَيْبَتَهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَبِسَ ثَوْبَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ فِيكَ خَلَّتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللَّهُ:‏‏‏‏ الْحِلْمُ وَالْأَنَاةُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَا أَتَخَلَّقُ بِهِمَا أَمْ اللَّهُ جَبَلَنِي عَلَيْهِمَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَلِ اللَّهُ جَبَلَكَ عَلَيْهِمَا،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَبَلَنِي عَلَى خَلَّتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ .

زارع سے روایت ہے، وہ وفد عبدالقیس میں تھے وہ کہتے ہیں جب ہم مدینہ پہنچے تو اپنے اونٹوں سے جلدی جلدی اترنے لگے اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہاتھوں اور پیروں کا بوسہ لینے لگے، اور منذر اشج انتظار میں رہے یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنے کپڑے کے صندوق کے پاس آئے اور دو کپڑے نکال کر پہن لیے، پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تو آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: تم میں دو خصلتیں ہیں جو اللہ کو محبوب ہیں: ایک بردباری اور دوسری وقار و متانت انہوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا یہ دونوں خصلتیں جو مجھ میں ہیں میں نے اختیار کیا ہے؟ ( کسبی ہیں ) ( یا وہبی ) اللہ نے مجھ میں پیدائش سے یہ خصلتیں رکھی ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: بلکہ اللہ نے پیدائش سے ہی تم میں یہ خصلتیں رکھی ہیں، اس پر انہوں نے کہا: اللہ تیرا شکر ہے جس نے مجھے دو ایسی خصلتوں کے ساتھ پیدا کیا جن دونوں کو اللہ اور اس کے رسول پسند فرماتے ہیں۔

Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم addressed me, saying: O Abu Dharr! I replied: At thy service and at thy pleasure, Messenger of Allah! may I be ransom for thee.

Narrated Imran ibn Husayn: In the pre-Islamic period we used to say: May Allah make the eye happy for you, and Good morning but when Islam came, we were forbidden to say that. AbdurRazzaq said on the authority of Mamar: It is disapproved that a man should say: May Allah make the eye happy for you, but there is no harm in saying: May Allah make your eye happy.

Abu Qatadah said: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was on journey. The people became thirsty, and they went quickly. I guarded the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on that night. He said: May Allah guard you for the reason you have guarded His Prophet!

Narrated Muawiyah: Abu Mijlaz said: Muawiyah went out to Ibn az-Zubayr and Ibn Amir. Ibn Amir got up and Ibn az-Zubayr remained sitting. Muawiyah said to Ibn Amir: Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: Let him who likes people to stand up before him prepare his place in Hell.

Narrated Abu Umamah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out to us leaning on a stick. We stood up to show respect to him. He said: Do not stand up as foreigners do for showing respect to one another.

Narrated A man: Ghalib said: When we were sitting at al-Hasan's door, a man came along. He said: My father told me on the authority of my grandfather, saying: My father sent me to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and said: Go to him and give him a greeting. So I went to him and said: My father sends you a greeting. He said: Upon you and upon your father be peace.
