Aishah, wife of the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم laugh fully to such an extent that I could see his uvula. He would only smile, and when he saw clouds or wind, his face showed signs (of fear). I asked him: Messenger of Allah! When the people see the cloud, they rejoice, hoping for that it may contain rain, and I notice that when you see it, (the signs of) abomination on your face. He replied: Aishah! What gives me safety from the fact that it might contain punishment? A people were punished by the wind. When those people saw the punishment, they said: this is a cloud which would give us rain.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرٌو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطُّ مُسْتَجْمِعًا ضَاحِكًا حَتَّى أَرَى مِنْهُ لَهَوَاتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا كَانَ يَتَبَسَّمُ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَأَى غَيْمًا أَوْ رِيحًا عُرِفَ ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏النَّاسُ إِذَا رَأَوْا الْغَيْمَ فَرِحُوا رَجَاءَ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ الْمَطَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَرَاكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُ عُرِفَتْ فِي وَجْهِكَ الْكَرَاهِيَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا عَائِشَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا يُؤَمِّنُنِي أَنْ يَكُونَ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ قَدْ عُذِّبَ قَوْمٌ بِالرِّيحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَأَى قَوْمٌ الْعَذَابَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کبھی کھلکھلا کر ہنستے نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ کے حلق کے کوے کو دیکھ سکوں، آپ تو صرف تبسم فرماتے ( ہلکا سا مسکراتے ) تھے، آپ جب بدلی یا آندھی دیکھتے تو اس کا اثر آپ کے چہرے پر دیکھا جاتا ( آپ تردد اور تشویش میں مبتلا ہو جاتے ) تو ( ایک بار ) میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! لوگ تو جب بدلی دیکھتے ہیں تو خوش ہوتے ہیں کہ بارش ہو گی، اور آپ کو دیکھتی ہوں کہ آپ جب بدلی دیکھتے ہیں تو آپ کے چہرے سے ناگواری ( گھبراہٹ اور پریشانی ) جھلکتی ہے ( اس کی وجہ کیا ہے؟ ) آپ نے فرمایا: اے عائشہ! مجھے یہ ڈر لگا رہتا ہے کہ کہیں اس میں عذاب نہ ہو، کیونکہ ایک قوم ( قوم عاد ) ہوا کے عذاب سے دو چار ہو چکی ہے، اور ایک قوم نے ( بدلی کا ) عذاب دیکھا، تو وہ کہنے لگی «هذا عارض ممطرنا» ۱؎: یہ بادل تو ہم پر برسے گا ( وہ برسا تو لیکن، بارش پتھروں کی ہوئی، سب ہلاک کر دیے گئے ) ۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: When the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم saw a cloud formation in the sky, he left work, even if he were at prayer, and then would say: O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee from its evil. If it rained, he would say: O Allah! send a beneficial downpour.

Anas said; A shower of rain fell on us when we were with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم went out and removed his garment till some of the rain fell on him. We asked him; Messenger of Allah! Why did you do this? He replied: Because it has recently been with its Lord.

Narrated Zayd ibn Khalid: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Do not curse the cock, for it awakens for prayer.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: when you hear the cocks crowing, ask Allah for some of His grace, for they have seen as angel; but when you hear an ass braying, seek refuge in Allah from the devil, for it has seen the devil.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of asses at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see which you do not see.

Narrated Ali ibn Umar ibn Husayn ibn Ali: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Do not go out much when there are few people about, for Allah the Exalted scatters abroad of His beasts in that hour (according to Ibn Marwan's version). Ibn Marwan's version has: For Allah has creatures. He then mentioned the barking of dogs and braying of asses in a similar manner. He added in his version: Ibn al-Had said: Shurahbil ibn al-Hajib told me on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم similar to it.
