Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: One night it seemed to me in a dream that we were in the house of Uqbah ibn Rafi and were brought some of the fresh dates of Ibn tab. I interpreted it as meaning that to us is granted eminence (rif'ah) in this world, a blessed hereafter ('aqibah), and that our religion has been good (tabah).

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ اللَّيْلَةَ كَأَنَّا فِي دَارِ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُتِينَا بِرُطَبٍ مِنْ رُطَبِ ابْنِ طَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَوَّلْتُ أَنَّ الرِّفْعَةَ لَنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْعَاقِبَةَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنَّ دِينَنَا قَدْ طَابَ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں نے آج رات دیکھا جیسے ہم عقبہ بن رافع کے گھر میں ہوں، اور ہمارے پاس ابن طاب ۱؎ کی رطب تازہ ( کھجوریں ) لائی گئیں، تو میں نے یہ تعبیر کی کہ دنیا میں بلندی ہمارے واسطے ہے اور آخرت کی عاقبت ۲؎ بھی اور ہمارا دین سب سے عمدہ اور اچھا ہو گیا ۔

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: When one of you yawns, he should hold his hand over his mouth, for the devil enters.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted in a similar way by Suhail through a different chain of narrators. This version has; “during prayer, so he should hold as far as possible”.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Allah likes sneezing but dislikes yawning. So when one of you yawns, he should restrain it as much as possible, and should not say Ha, Ha, for that is from the devil who laughs at him.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم sneezed, he placed his hand or a garment on his mouth, and lessened the noise. The transmitter Yahya is doubtful about the exact words khafada or ghadda (lessened).

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: There are five qualities which a Muslim should display to his brother: return of salutation, response to the one who sneezes, acceptance of the invitation, paying sick visit to a patient, and accompanying the funeral.

Narrated Salim ibn Ubayd: Hilal ibn Yasar said: We were with Salim ibn Ubayd when a man from among the people sneezed and said: Peace be upon you. Salim said: And upon you and your mother. Later he said: Perhaps you found something (annoying) in what I said to you. He said: I wished you would not mention my mother with good or evil. He said: I have just said to you what the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said. We were in the presence of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم when a man from among the people sneezed, saying: Peace be upon you! The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: And upon you and your mother. He then said: When one of you sneezes, he should praise Allah. He further mentioned some attributes (of Allah), saying: The one who is with him should say to him: Allah have mercy on you, and he should reply to them: Allah forgive us and you.
