Narrated Umm Salamah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Disagreement will occur at the death of a caliph and a man of the people of Madina will come flying forth to Makkah. Some of the people of Makkah will come to him, bring him out against his will and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. An expeditionary force will then be sent against him from Syria but will be swallowed up in the desert between Makkah and Madina. When the people see that, the eminent saints of Syria and the best people of Iraq will come to him and swear allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam. Then there will arise a man of Quraysh whose maternal uncles belong to Kalb and send against them an expeditionary force which will be overcome by them, and that is the expedition of Kalb. Disappointed will be the one who does not receive the booty of Kalb. He will divide the property, and will govern the people by the Sunnah of their Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and establish Islam on Earth. He will remain seven years, then die, and the Muslims will pray over him. Abu Dawud said: Some transmitted from Hisham nine years and some seven years .

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَالِحٍ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَكُونُ اخْتِلَافٌ عِنْدَ مَوْتِ خَلِيفَةٍ فَيَخْرُجُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ هَارِبًا إِلَى مَكَّةَ فَيَأْتِيهِ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ فَيُخْرِجُونَهُ وَهُوَ كَارِهٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُبَايِعُونَهُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ وَيُبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْثٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُخْسَفُ بِهِمْ بِالْبَيْدَاءِ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا رَأَى النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ أَتَاهُ أَبْدَالُ الشَّامِ وَعَصَائِبُ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ فَيُبَايِعُونَهُ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ ثُمَّ يَنْشَأُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَخْوَالُهُ كَلْبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِمْ بَعْثًا فَيَظْهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَذَلِكَ بَعْثُ كَلْبٍ وَالْخَيْبَةُ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَشْهَدْ غَنِيمَةَ كَلْبٍ فَيَقْسِمُ الْمَالَ وَيَعْمَلُ فِي النَّاسِ بِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيُلْقِي الْإِسْلَامُ بِجِرَانِهِ إِلى الْأَرْضِ فَيَلْبَثُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ ثُمَّ يُتَوَفَّى وَيُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ عَنِ هِشَامٍ تِسْعَ سِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ.

ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ایک خلیفہ کی موت کے وقت اختلاف ہو گا تو اہل مدینہ میں سے ایک شخص مکہ کی طرف بھاگتے ہوئے نکلے گا، اہل مکہ میں سے کچھ لوگ اس کے پاس آئیں گے اور اس کو امامت کے لیے پیش کریں گے، اسے یہ پسند نہ ہو گا، پھر حجر اسود اور مقام ابراہیم کے درمیان لوگ اس سے بیعت کریں گے، اور شام کی جانب سے ایک لشکر اس کی طرف بھیجا جائے گا تو مکہ اور مدینہ کے درمیان مقام بیداء میں وہ سب کے سب دھنسا دئیے جائیں گے، جب لوگ اس صورت حال کو دیکھیں گے تو شام کے ابدال اور اہل عراق کی جماعتیں اس کے پاس آئیں گی، حجر اسود اور مقام ابراہیم کے درمیان اس سے بیعت کریں گی، اس کے بعد ایک شخص قریش میں سے اٹھے گا جس کا ننہال بنی کلب میں ہو گا جو ایک لشکر ان کی طرف بھیجے گا، وہ اس پر غالب آئیں گے، یہی کلب کا لشکر ہو گا، اور نامراد رہے گا وہ شخص جو کلب کے مال غنیمت میں حاضر نہ رہے، وہ مال غنیمت تقسیم کرے گا اور لوگوں میں ان کے نبی کی سنت کو جاری کرے گا، اور اسلام اپنی گردن زمین میں ڈال دے گا، وہ سات سال تک حکمرانی کرے گا، پھر وفات پا جائے گا، اور مسلمان اس کی نماز جنازہ پڑھیں گے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: بعض نے ہشام سے نو سال کی روایت کی ہے اور بعض نے سات کی۔

Umm salamah reported the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying about the swallowing up an army by the earth. I asked: How will a man who comes against his will (be swallowed up by the earth), Messenger of Allah ? He replied: All will be swallowed up, but each will be raised according to his intention on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu Dawud said: Abu Ishaq told that Ali looked at his son al-Hasan and said: This son of mine is a sayyid (chief) as named by the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and from his loins will come forth a man who will be called by the name of your Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and resemble him in conduct but not in appearance. He then mentioned the story about his filling the earth with justice.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it. Dhu Mikhbar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: you will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you, and you will be victorious, take booty, and be safe. You will then return and alight in a meadow with mounds and one of the Christians will raise the cross and say: The cross has conquered. One of the Muslims will become angry and smash it, and the Byzantines will act treacherously and prepare for the battle.
