Abu Dawud said: Abu Ishaq told that Ali looked at his son al-Hasan and said: This son of mine is a sayyid (chief) as named by the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and from his loins will come forth a man who will be called by the name of your Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and resemble him in conduct but not in appearance. He then mentioned the story about his filling the earth with justice.

قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ:‏‏‏‏ وَنَظَرَ إِلَى ابْنِهِ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ كَمَا سَمَّاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ صُلْبِهِ رَجُلٌ يُسَمَّى بِاسْمِ نَبِيِّكُمْ يُشْبِهُهُ فِي الْخُلُقِ وَلَا يُشْبِهُهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ قِصَّةً يَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلًا.

ابواسحاق کہتے ہیں کہ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے بیٹے حسن رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف دیکھا، اور کہا: یہ میرا بیٹا سردار ہو گا جیسا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کا نام رکھا ہے، اور عنقریب اس کی نسل سے ایک ایسا شخص پیدا ہو گا جس کا نام تمہارے نبی کے نام جیسا ہو گا، اور سیرت میں ان کے مشابہ ہو گا البتہ صورت میں مشابہ نہ ہو گا پھر انہوں نے «سيملأ الأرض عدلاً» کا واقعہ ذکر کیا۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah will raise for this community at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it. Dhu Mikhbar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: you will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you, and you will be victorious, take booty, and be safe. You will then return and alight in a meadow with mounds and one of the Christians will raise the cross and say: The cross has conquered. One of the Muslims will become angry and smash it, and the Byzantines will act treacherously and prepare for the battle.

Narrated Muadh ibn Jabal: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Muadh ibn Jabal).
