Narrated Abu Ayyub al-Ansari: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ate or drank, he said: Praise be to Allah Who has given food and drink and made it easy to swallow, and provided an exit for it.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ الْقُرَشِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَ وَسَقَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَوَّغَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَجَعَلَ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا .

ابوایوب انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب کھاتے یا پیتے تو کہتے: «الحمد لله الذي أطعم وسقى، وسوغه، وجعل له مخرجا» ہر طرح کی تعریف اس اللہ کے لیے ہے جس نے ہمیں کھلایا، پلایا، اسے خوشگوار بنایا اور اس کے نکلنے کی راہ بنائی ۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If anyone spends the night with grease on his hand which he has not washed away, he can blame only himself if some trouble comes to him.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: AbulHaytham ibn at-Tayhan prepared food for the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he invited the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and his Companions. When they finished (food), the said: If some people enter the house of a man, his food is eaten and his drink is drunk, and they supplicate (to Allah) for him, this is his reward.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to visit Saad ibn Ubaydah, and he brought bread and olive oil, and he ate (them). Them). Then the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: May the fasting (men) break their fast with you, and the pious eat your food, and the angels pray for blessing on you.

Narrated Usamah ibn Sharik: I came to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and his Companions were sitting as if they had birds on their heads. I saluted and sat down. The desert Arabs then came from here and there. They asked: Messenger of Allah, should we make use of medical treatment? He replied: Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age.

Narrated Umm al-Mundhar bint Qays al-Ansariyyah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to visit me, accompanied by Ali who was convalescing. We had some ripe dates hung up. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم got up and began to eat from them. Ali also got up to eat, but the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said repeatedly to Ali: Stop, Ali, for you are convalescing, and Ali stopped. She said: I then prepared some barley and beer-root and brought it. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then said: Take some of this, Ali, for it will be more beneficial for you. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Harun said: al-Adawiyyah (i. e. Umm al-Mundhar).
