Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: AbulHaytham ibn at-Tayhan prepared food for the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he invited the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and his Companions. When they finished (food), the said: If some people enter the house of a man, his food is eaten and his drink is drunk, and they supplicate (to Allah) for him, this is his reward.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ أَبِي خَالِدٍ الدَّالَانِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَجُلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَنَعَ أَبُو الْهَيْثَمِ بْنُ التَّيْهَانِ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَدَعَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا فَرَغُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَثِيبُوا أَخَاكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا إِثَابَتُهُ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا دُخِلَ بَيْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأُكِلَ طَعَامُهُ وَشُرِبَ شَرَابُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَدَعَوْا لَهُ فَذَلِكَ إِثَابَتُهُ .
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں   ابوالہیثم بن تیہان نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے کھانا بنایا پھر آپ کو اور صحابہ کرام کو بلایا، جب یہ لوگ کھانے سے فارغ ہوئے تو آپ نے فرمایا: تم لوگ اپنے بھائی کا بدلہ چکاؤ لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اس کا کیا بدلہ ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب کوئی شخص کسی کے گھر جائے اور وہاں اسے کھلایا اور پلایا جائے اور وہ اس کے لیے دعا کرے تو یہی اس کا بدلہ ہے ۔

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to visit Saad ibn Ubaydah, and he brought bread and olive oil, and he ate (them). Them). Narrated Umm al-Mundhar bint Qays al-Ansariyyah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came to visit me, accompanied by Ali who was convalescing. We had some ripe dates hung up. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم got up and began to eat from them. Ali also got up to eat, but the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said repeatedly to Ali: Stop, Ali, for you are convalescing, and Ali stopped. She said: I then prepared some barley and beer-root and brought it. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم then said: Take some of this, Ali, for it will be more beneficial for you. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Harun said: al-Adawiyyah (i. e. Umm al-Mundhar).
