Narrated Buhaisah: On the authority of her father: My father asked the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم for permission (to kiss his body). (When he was given permission), lifting his shirt he approached his body, and began to kiss and stick to him. He then asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He replied: Water. He asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He replied: Salt. He again asked: Prophet of Allah, what is the thing withholding of which is not lawful ? He said: That you do a good work is better for you.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَيَّارِ بْنِ مَنْظُورٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا:‏‏‏‏ بُهَيْسَةُ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَأْذَنَ أَبِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَخَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ قَمِيصِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَعَلَ يُقَبِّلُ وَيَلْتَزِمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمَاءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمِلْحُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا يَحِلُّ مَنْعُهُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْ تَفْعَلَ الْخَيْرَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ .

بہیسہ نامی خاتون اپنے والد سے روایت کرتی ہیں کہ میرے والد نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس حاضر ہونے کی اجازت مانگی، ( اجازت ملی ) پہنچ کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا کرتہ اٹھا کر آپ کو بوسہ دینے اور آپ سے لپٹنے لگے پھر پوچھا: اللہ کے نبی! وہ کون سی چیز ہے جس کے دینے سے انکار کرنا جائز نہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: پانی پھر پوچھا: اللہ کے نبی! ( اور ) کون سی چیز ہے جس کا روکنا درست نہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نمک پھر پوچھا: اللہ کے نبی! ( اور ) کون سی چیز ہے جس کا روکنا درست نہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جتنی بھی تو نیکی کرے ( یعنی جو چیزیں بھی دے سکتا ہے دے ) تیرے لیے بہتر ہے ۔

Narrated A man: A man from the immigrants of the Companions of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: I participated in battle three times along with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. I heard him say: Muslims have common share in three (things). grass, water and fire.
