Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to take a bath on account of sexual defilement, on Friday, for cupping and washing the dead.

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ طَلْقِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ:‏‏‏‏ أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ:‏‏‏‏ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنَ الْحِجَامَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَغُسْلِ الْمَيِّتِ .

عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ان سے بیان کیا کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چار چیزوں کی وجہ سے غسل کرتے تھے: جنابت سے، جمعہ کے دن، پچھنا لگوانے سے اور میت کو غسل دینے سے ۱؎۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: He who washes the dead should take a bath, and he who carries him should perform ablution.

When Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about a man taking a bath after his washing the dead, I heard him say: Ablution is sufficient for him. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Abu Salih made a mention of the narrator Ishaq, the client of Zaidah between him and Abu Hurairah. He said: The tradition of Musab is weak. It contains many things that are not practised.

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم that he kissed Uthman ibn Maz'un while he was dead, and I saw that tears were flowing (from his eyes).

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The people saw fire (light) in the graveyard and they went there. They found that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was in a grave and he was saying: Give me your companion. This was a man who used to raise his voice while mentioning the name of Allah.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: On the day of Uhud we brought the martyrs to bury them (at another place), but the crier of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came and said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has commanded you to bury the martyrs at the place where they fell. So we took them back.

Narrated Malik ibn Hubayrah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If any Muslim dies and three rows of Muslims pray over him, it will assure him (of Paradise). When Malik considered those who accompanied a bier to be a few, he divided them into three rows in accordance with this tradition.
