The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Hurairah through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. Abu Dawud said: This has been abrogated. When Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked about a man taking a bath after his washing the dead, I heard him say: Ablution is sufficient for him. Abu Dawud said: The narrator Abu Salih made a mention of the narrator Ishaq, the client of Zaidah between him and Abu Hurairah. He said: The tradition of Musab is weak. It contains many things that are not practised.

حَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْحَاق مَوْلَى زَائِدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بِمَعْنَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا مَنْسُوخٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وسَمِعْت أَحْمَدَ بْنَ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنْ غَسْلِ الْمَيِّتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يُجْزِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ أَدْخَلَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَعْنِي إِسْحَاق مَوْلَى زَائِدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَحَدِيثُ مُصْعَبٍ ضَعِيفٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِيهِ خِصَالٌ لَيْسَ الْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ.

اس سند سے بھی ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ (نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے) اسی مفہوم کی حدیث روایت کرتے ہیں ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث منسوخ ہے، میں نے احمد بن حنبل سے سنا ہے: جب ان سے میت کو غسل دینے والے کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: اسے وضو کر لینا کافی ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: ابوصالح نے اس حدیث میں اپنے اور ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے درمیان زائدہ کے غلام اسحاق کو داخل کر دیا ہے، نیز مصعب کی روایت ضعیف ہے اس میں کچھ چیزیں ہیں جن پر عمل نہیں ہے۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم that he kissed Uthman ibn Maz'un while he was dead, and I saw that tears were flowing (from his eyes).

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The people saw fire (light) in the graveyard and they went there. They found that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was in a grave and he was saying: Give me your companion. This was a man who used to raise his voice while mentioning the name of Allah.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: On the day of Uhud we brought the martyrs to bury them (at another place), but the crier of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came and said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has commanded you to bury the martyrs at the place where they fell. So we took them back.

Narrated Malik ibn Hubayrah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: If any Muslim dies and three rows of Muslims pray over him, it will assure him (of Paradise). When Malik considered those who accompanied a bier to be a few, he divided them into three rows in accordance with this tradition.

Narrated Umm Atiyyah: We were forbidden accompany the biers, but it was not stressed upon us.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: If anyone attends the funeral and prays over (the dead), he will get the reward of one qirat, and if anyone attends the funeral until the completion (of the burial), he will get the reward of two qirats, the smaller of them being equivalent of Uhud, or one of them being equivalent to Uhud.
