Narrated Saad ibn Abu Waqqas: We went out with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم from Makkah making for Madina. When we were near Azwara', he alighted, then raised his hands, and made supplication to Allah for a time, after which he prostrated himself, remaining a long time in prostration. Then he stood up and raised his hands for a time, after which he prostrated himself, remaining a long time in prostration. حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد وَهُوَ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏عَنْ الأَشْعَثِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ نُرِيدُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَمَّا كُنَّا قَرِيبًا مِنْ عَزْوَرَا نَزَلَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَدَعَا اللَّهَ سَاعَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا فَمَكَثَ طَوِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَدَعَا اللَّهَ سَاعَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا فَمَكَثَ طَوِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَامَ فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ سَاعَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا ذَكَرَهُ أَحْمَدُ ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي وَشَفَعْتُ لِأُمَّتِي فَأَعْطَانِي ثُلُثَ أُمَّتِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَخَرَرْتُ سَاجِدًا شُكْرًا لِرَبِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ رَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَسَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي فَأَعْطَانِي ثُلُثَ أُمَّتِي فَخَرَرْتُ سَاجِدًا لِرَبِّي شُكْرًا ثُمَّ رَفَعْتُ رَأْسِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَأَلْتُ رَبِّي لِأُمَّتِي فَأَعْطَانِي الثُّلُثَ الْآخِرَ فَخَرَرْتُ سَاجِدًا لِرَبِّي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ أَشْعَثُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَسْقَطَهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ. حينَ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ عَنْهُ مُوسَى بْنُ سَهْلٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ.

سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ مکہ سے نکلے، ہم مدینہ کا ارادہ کر رہے تھے، جب ہم عزورا ۱؎کے قریب ہوئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اترے، پھر آپ نے دونوں ہاتھوں کو اٹھایا، اور کچھ دیر اللہ سے دعا کی، پھر سجدہ میں گر پڑے، اور بڑی دیر تک سجدہ ہی میں پڑے رہے، پھر کھڑے ہوئے اور دونوں ہاتھ اٹھا کر کچھ دیر تک اللہ سے دعا کی، پھر سجدے میں گر پڑے اور دیر تک سجدہ میں پڑے رہے، پھر اٹھے اور اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اٹھا کر کچھ دیر دعا کی، پھر دوبارہ آپ سجدے میں گر پڑے، اور فرمایا: میں نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی اور اپنی امت کے لیے سفارش کی تو اللہ نے مجھے ایک تہائی امت دے دی، میں اپنے رب کا شکر ادا کرتے ہوئے سجدہ میں گر گیا، پھر سر اٹھایا، اور اپنی امت کے لیے دعا کی تو اللہ نے مجھے اپنی امت کا ایک تہائی اور دے دیا تو میں اپنے رب کا شکر ادا کرنے کے لیے پھر سجدہ میں گر گیا، پھر میں نے اپنا سر اٹھایا، اور اپنی امت کے لیے اپنے رب سے درخواست کی تو اللہ نے جو ایک تہائی باقی تھا اسے بھی مجھے دے دیا تو میں اپنے رب کا شکریہ ادا کرنے کے لیے سجدے میں گر پڑا ۔

Anas bin Malik said “A youth of Aslam said “Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, I wish to go on an expedition, but I have no property to make myself equipped. He said “go to so and so Ansari who prepared equipment (for the battle), but he fell ill and tell him that the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has conveyed his regards to you, and then tell him “Give him all the equipment you have made. He came to him and told him that. He said to his wife “O so and so, give him all the equipment I have made and do not detain anything from him. I swear by Allaah, if you detain anything from him, Allaah will not bless it.

Kaab bin Malik said “The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to arrive from a journey in the daytime. Al Hasan said “During the forenoon. ” When he arrived from a journey he went first to the mosque where he prayed two rak’ahs after which he sat in it and gave audience to the people.
