Nafi said: Ibn Umar stayed at Dajnan (a place between Makkah and Madina) on a cold night. He commanded an announcer (to announce). He announced that the people should offer prayer in their dwellings. Ayyub said: Nafi narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar that whenever there was a cold or a rainy day night, the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded the announcer (to announce). He announced to offer prayer in the dwellings.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ نَزَلَ بِضَجْنَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَ الْمُنَادِيَ فَنَادَى أَنِ الصَّلَاةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ. قَالَ أَيُّوبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ أَوْ مَطِيرَةٌ أَمَرَ الْمُنَادِيَ فَنَادَى الصَّلَاةُ فِي الرِّحَالِ .
نافع سے روایت ہے کہ   ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما وادی ضجنان میں ایک سرد رات میں اترے اور منادی کو حکم دیا اور اس نے آواز لگائی: لوگو! اپنے ڈیروں میں نماز پڑھ لو، ایوب کہتے ہیں: اور ہم سے نافع نے عبداللہ بن عمر کے واسطے سے بیان کیا ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سردی یا بارش کی رات ہوتی تو منادی کو حکم دیتے تو وہ «الصلاة في الرحال» لوگو! اپنے اپنے ڈیروں میں نماز پڑھ لو کا اعلان کرتا۔
