Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The Friday prayer is obligatory on him who hears the call. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been transmitted by a group of narrators from Sufyan. They did not narrate it as a statement of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم; only Qabisah has transmitted it as saying of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي الطَّائِفِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ نُبَيْهٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هَارُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْجُمُعَةُ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ جَمَاعَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ مَقْصُورًا عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَرْفَعُوهُ وَإِنَّمَا أَسْنَدَهُ قَبِيصَةُ.

عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جمعہ ہر اس شخص پر ہے جس نے جمعہ کی اذان سنی ہے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث کو ایک جماعت نے سفیان سے روایت کرتے ہوئے عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما پر موقوف کیا ہے اور صرف قبیصہ نے اسے مسند ( یعنی مرفوع روایت ) کیا ہے۔

Narrated Usamah ibn Umayr al-Huzali: The rain was falling on the day when the Battle of Hunayn took place. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, therefore, commanded that the people should offer their prayer in their camps.

Narrated Usamah ibn Umayr al-Huzali: Usamah attended the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on the occasion of the treaty of al-Hudaybiyyah on Friday. The rain fell as little as the soles of the shoes of the people were not set. He (the Prophet) commanded them to offer Friday prayer in their dwellings.

Nafi said: Ibn Umar stayed at Dajnan (a place between Makkah and Madina) on a cold night. He commanded an announcer (to announce). He announced that the people should offer prayer in their dwellings. Ayyub said: Nafi narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar that whenever there was a cold or a rainy day night, the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded the announcer (to announce). Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Nafi reported: Ibn Umar made the call to prayer at Dajnan (a place between Makkah and Madina).
