This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Anas b. Malik through another chain of narrators, but with a slight variation of wording.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ بِشْرٍ وَعَبْدَةَ لَا يُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ أَحَدٌ بَعْدِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِهِ

محمد بن بشر ، عبدہ اور ابواسامہ ، ان سب نے سعید بن ابی عروبہ سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے قتادہ سے ، انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے اور انہوں نے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی ۔ ابن بشر اور عبدہ کی حدیث میں ہے : میرے بعد یہ حدیث تمہیں کوئی نہیں سنائے گا ۔ میں نے ( خود ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ، پھر اسی ( شعبہ کی حدیث ) کے مانند بیان کیا ۔

Abu Wa'il reported: I was sitting with 'Abdullah and Abu Musa that they reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having said: Prior to the Last Hour, there would be a time when knowledge would be taken away, and ignorance would take its place and there would be bloodshed on a large scale.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: (When) the time would draw close to the Last Hour, knowledge would be snatched away, turmoil would be rampant, miserliness would be put (in the hearts of the people) and therewould be much bloodshed. They said: What is al-harj? Thereupon he said: It is bloodshed.
