Abu Wa'il reported: I was sitting with 'Abdullah and Abu Musa that they reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) having said: Prior to the Last Hour, there would be a time when knowledge would be taken away, and ignorance would take its place and there would be bloodshed on a large scale.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَأَبِي قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ح و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَبِي مُوسَى فَقَالَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّامًا يُرْفَعُ فِيهَا الْعِلْمُ وَيَنْزِلُ فِيهَا الْجَهْلُ وَيَكْثُرُ فِيهَا الْهَرْجُ وَالْهَرْجُ الْقَتْلُ

وکیع اور عبداللہ بن نمیر نے کہا : ہمیں اعمش نے ابووائل سے حدیث بیان کی ، کہا : میں حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود اور حضرت ابوموسی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا ، ان دونوں نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " قیامت سے کچھ عرصہ پہلے وہ ایام ہوں گے جن میں علم اٹھ جائے گا ، جہل طاری ہو جائے گا اور ان دنوں ہرج کی کثرت ہو جائے گی اور ہرج ( سے مراد ) لوگوں کا قتل ہے ۔ "

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: (When) the time would draw close to the Last Hour, knowledge would be snatched away, turmoil would be rampant, miserliness would be put (in the hearts of the people) and therewould be much bloodshed. They said: What is al-harj? Thereupon he said: It is bloodshed.
