Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) came to the house of Umm Sulaim and slept in her bed while she was away from her house. On the other day too he slept in her bed. She came and it was said to her: It is Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) who is having siesta in your house, lying in your bed. She came and found him sweating and his sweat falling on the leather cloth spread on her bed. She opened her scent-bag and began to fill the bottles with it. Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) was startled and woke up and said: Umm Sulaim, what are you doing? She said: Allah's Messenger, we seek blessings for our children through it. Thereupon he said: You have done something right.

وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُ بَيْتَ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ فَيَنَامُ عَلَى فِرَاشِهَا، وَلَيْسَتْ فِيهِ، قَالَ: فَجَاءَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَنَامَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهَا، فَأُتِيَتْ فَقِيلَ لَهَا: هَذَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَامَ فِي بَيْتِكِ، عَلَى فِرَاشِكِ، قَالَ فَجَاءَتْ وَقَدْ عَرِقَ، وَاسْتَنْقَعَ عَرَقُهُ عَلَى قِطْعَةِ أَدِيمٍ، عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ، فَفَتَحَتْ عَتِيدَتَهَا فَجَعَلَتْ تُنَشِّفُ ذَلِكَ الْعَرَقَ فَتَعْصِرُهُ فِي قَوَارِيرِهَا، فَفَزِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «مَا تَصْنَعِينَ؟ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ» فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَرْجُو بَرَكَتَهُ لِصِبْيَانِنَا، قَالَ: «أَصَبْتِ»

اسحاق بن عبداللہ بن ابی طلحہ نے حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ام سلیم کے گھر میں جاتے اور ان کے بچھونے پر سو رہتے ، اور وہ گھر میں نہیں ہوتیں تھیں ایک دن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور ان کے بچھونے پر سو رہے ۔ لوگوں نے انہیں بلا کر کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تمہارے گھر میں تمہارے بچھونے پر سو رہے ہیں ، یہ سن کر وہ آئیں دیکھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پسینہ آیا ہوا ہے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا پسینہ چمڑے کے بچھونے پر جمع ہو گیا ہے ۔ ام سلیم نے اپنا ڈبہ کھولا اور یہ پسینہ پونچھ پونچھ کر شیشوں میں بھرنے لگیں ۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم گھبرا کر اٹھ بیٹھے اور فرمایا کہ اے ام سلیم! کیا کرتی ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم اپنے بچوں کے لئے برکت کی امید رکھتے ہیں ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم نے ٹھیک کیا ۔

Umm Sulaim reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) visited her house and (took rest) and she spread a piece of cloth for him and he had had a siesta on it. And he sweated profusely and she collected his sweat and put it in a perfume and in bottles. Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Umm Sulaim, what is this? She said: It is your sweat, which I put in my perfume. Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) sweated in cold weather when revelation descended upon him.

A'isha reported: When revelation descended upon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) even during the cold days, his forehead perspired.

A'isha reported that Harith b. Hisham asked Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ): How does the the wahi (inspiration) come to you? He said: At times it comes to me like the ringing of a bell and that is most severe for me and when it is over I retain that (what I had received in the form of wahi), and at times an Angel in the form of a human being comes to me (and speaks) and I retain whatever he speaks.

Ubida b. Samit reported that when wahi (inspiration) descended upon Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), he felt a burden on that account and the colour of his face underwent a change.

Ubida b. Samit reported that when wahi descended upon Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), he lowered his head and so lowered his Companions their heads, and when (this state) was over, he raised his head.

Ibn Abbas reported that the People of the Book used to let their hair fall (on their foreheads) and the polytheists used to part them on their heads, and Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) liked to conform his behaviour to the People of the Book in matters in which he received no command (from God) ; so Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) let fall his hair upon his forehead, and then he began to part it after this.
