Abu Sa'id reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Allah, the High and Glorious, would say: O Adam I and he would say: At Thy service, at thy beck and call, O Lord, and the good is in Thy Hand. Allah would say: Bring forth the group of (the denizens of) Fire. He (Adam) would say: Who are the denizens of Hell? It would be said: They are out of every thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine. He (the Holy Prophet) said: It is at this juncture that every child would become white-haired and every pregnant woman would abort and you would see people in a state of intoxication, and they would not be in fact intoxicated but grievous will be the torment of Allah. He (the narrator) said: This had a very depressing effect upon them (upon the companions of the Holy Prophet) and they said: Messenger of Allah, who amongst us would be (that unfortunate) person (who would be doomed to Hell)? He said: Good tidings for you, Yajuj Majuj would be those thousands (who would be the denizens of Hell) and a person (selected for Paradise) would be amongst you. He (the narrator) further reported that he (the Messenger of Allah) again said: By Him in Whose Hand is thy life, I hope that you would constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise. We extolled Allah and we glorified (Him). He (the Holy Prophet) again said: BY Him in Whose Hand is my life, I wish you would constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise. We extolled Allah and Glorified (Him). He (the Holy Prophet) again said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, I hope that you would constitute half of the inhabitants of Paradise. Your likeness among the people is the likeness of a white hair on the skin of a black ox or a strip on the foreleg of an ass.

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْعَبْسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: يَقُولُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: يَا آدَمُ فَيَقُولُ: لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ، قَالَ يَقُولُ: أَخْرِجْ بَعْثَ النَّارِ قَالَ: وَمَا بَعْثُ النَّارِ قَالَ: مِنْ كُلِّ أَلْفٍ تِسْعَمِائَةٍ وَتِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ قَالَ: فَذَاكَ حِينَ يَشِيبُ الصَّغِيرُ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمْلٍ حَمْلَهَا وَتَرَى النَّاسَ سُكَارَى وَمَا هُمْ بِسُكَارَى وَلَكِنَّ عَذَابَ اللهِ شَدِيدٌ قَالَ: فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّنَا ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ؟ فَقَالَ: «أَبْشِرُوا فَإِنَّ مِنْ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ أَلْفًا، وَمِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ» قَالَ: ثُمَّ قَالَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنِّي لَأَطْمَعُ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ» فَحَمِدْنَا اللهَ وَكَبَّرْنَا. ثُمَّ قَالَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنِّي لَأَطْمَعُ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ» فَحَمِدْنَا اللهَ وَكَبَّرْنَا. ثُمَّ قَالَ: «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، إِنِّي لَأَطْمَعُ أَنْ تَكُونُوا شَطْرَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، إِنَّ مَثَلَكُمْ فِي الْأُمَمِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي جِلْدِ الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ، أَوْ كَالرَّقْمَةِ فِي ذِرَاعِ الْحِمَارِ»

جریر نے اعمش سے حدیث سنائی ، انہوں نے ابو صالح سے اور انہوں نے حضرت ابوسعید ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’اللہ عز وجل فرمائے گا : اے آدم ! وہ کہیں گے : میں حاضر ہوں ( میرے رب! ) قسمت کی خوبی ( تیری عطا ہے ) اور ساری خیر تیرے ہاتھ میں ہے ! کہا : اللہ فرمائے گا : دوزخیوں کی جماعت کو الگ کر دو ۔ آدم علیہ السلام عرض کریں گے : دوزخیوں کی جماعت ( تعداد میں ) کیا ہے ؟ اللہ فرمائے گا : ہر ہزار میں سے نوسو ننانوے ۔ یہ وقت ہو گا جب بچے بوڑھے ہو جائیں گے ۔ ہر حاملہ اپنا حمل گرا دے گی اور تم لوگوں کو مدہوش کی طرح دیکھو گے ، حالانکہ وہ ( نشےمیں ) مدہوش نہ ہوں گے بلکہ اللہ کا عذاب ہی بہت سخت ہو گا ۔ ابو سعید ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نے کہا کہ یہ بات ان ( صحابہ کرام ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ ) پر حد درجہ گراں گزری ۔ انہوں نے پوچھا ‎ : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ہم میں سے وہ ( ایک ) آدمی کون ہے ؟ تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’خوش ہو جاؤ ، ہزار یا جوج ماجوج میں سے ہیں اور ایک تم میں سے ہے ، ( ابو سعید ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ نے ) کہا : پھر آپ نے فرمایا : ’’اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا چوتھائی ( حصہ ) ہو گے ۔ ‘ ‘ ہم نےاللہ تعالیٰ کی حمد کی او رتکبیر کہی ( اللہ اکبرکہا ۔ ) ، پھر آپ نے فرمایا : ’’اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا تہائی ( حصہ ) ہو گے ۔ ‘ ‘ ہم نے اللہ کی حمد کی اور تکبیر کہی ، پھر فرمایا : ’’ اس ذات کی قسم جس کےہاتھ میں میری جان ہے ! مجھے امید ہے کہ تم اہل جنت کا آدھا حصہ ہو گے ۔ ( دوسری ) امتوں کے مقابلے میں تمہاری مثال اس سفید بال کی سی ہے جو سیاہ بیل کی جلدپر ہوتا ہے یا اس چھوٹے سے نشان کی سی ہے جو گدھے کے اگلے پاؤں پر ہوتا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘

The same hadith has been narrated from A'mash on the authority of the same chain of transmitters with the exception of these words: You would be no more among men (on the Day of Resurrection) but like a white hair on (the body of) a black ox, or like a black hair on (the body of) a white ox, and he made no mention of: a strip on the foreleg of an ass.

Abu Malik at-Ash'ari reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill upwhat is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one's faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur'an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves.

It was narrated from Simak bin Harb, that Mus'ab bin Sa'd said: ' 'Abdullah bin 'Umar came to visit Ibn 'Amir when he was sick and he said: 'Won't you supplicate to Allah for me, O Ibn 'Umar ?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) say: No Salat is accepted without Wudu' (purification), and no charity (is accepted) that comes from Ghulul [1] and you were the governor of Al-Basrah.' [1] Goods pilfered from the spoils of war prior to their authorized distribution.

Hammam b. Munabbih who is the brother of Wahb b. Munabbih said: This is what has been transmitted to us by Abu Huraira from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and then narrated a hadith out of them and observed that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: The prayer of none amongst you would be accepted in a state of impurity until he performs ablution.

Humran, the freed slave of 'Uthman, said: Uthman b. 'Affan called for ablution water and this is how he performed the ablution. He washed his hands thrice. He then rinsed his mouth and cleaned his nose with water (three times). He then washed his face three times, then washed his right arm up to the elbow three times, then washed his left arm like that, then wiped his head; then washed his right foot up to the ankle three times, then washed his left foot like that, and then said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) perform ablution like this ablution of mine. Then the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: He who performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then stood up (for prayer) and offered two rak'ahs of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted, all his previous sins are expiated. Ibn Shihab said: Our scholars remarked: This is the most complete of the ablutions performed for prayer.
