Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) drank (water) from Zamzam while he was standing.

و حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ح و حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ وَإِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ قَالَ إِسْمَعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ وَمُغِيرَةُ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرِبَ مِنْ زَمْزَمَ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ

ہشیم نےکہا : ہمیں عاصم احول اور مغیرہ نے شعبی سے حدیث بیان کی ، انھوں نے حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے زمزم کا پانی پیا جبکہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے تھے ۔

Ibn 'Abbas reported: I served (water from) Zamzam to Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), and he drank while standing, and he asked for it while he was near the House (i. e. House of Allah-Ka'ba).

Abu Qatada reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbade breathing in a vessel.

Anas reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to breathe three times in the course of a drink (i. e. he drank in three gulps).

Anas reported that Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) breathed three times (outside the vessel) in the course of a drink and said: It is more thirst- quenching, healthier and more wholesome. Anas said: So I also breathe three times in the course of a drink.
