Translation

A version of the tradition narrated on the authority of Suhail contains the additional words: And one who is drowned is a martyr.

وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَيَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ، قَالَ سُهَيْلٌ: قَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مِقْسَمٍ، أَشْهَدُ عَلَى أَخِيكَ أَنَّهُ زَادَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ «وَمَنْ غَرِقَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ»،

خالد نے ہمیں سہیل سے اسی سند کے ساتھ اسی کے مانند حدیث بیان کی ، البتہ ان کی حدیث میں ہے : سہیل نے کہا : عبیداللہ بن مقسم نے ( سہیل سے ) کہا کہ میں تمہارے بھائی کے بارے میں ( بھی ) گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اس حدیث ( کو اپنے والد سے بیان کرتے ہوئے اس ) میں یہ اضافہ کیا تھا : " اور جو غرق ہو جائے وہ شہید ہے ۔ "

It has been narrated on the authority of Hafsa daughter of Sirin who said: Anas b. Malik asked me the cause of death of Yahya b. 'Abu 'Amra. I said: (He died) of plague. He said: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said that death by plague is martyrdom for a Muslim.
