Translation

It has been narrated on the authority of Uqba b. Amir who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) say: Lands shall be thrown open to you and Allah will suffice you (against your enemies), but none of you should give up playing with his arrows.

وَحَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «سَتُفْتَحُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَرَضُونَ، وَيَكْفِيكُمُ اللهُ، فَلَا يَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَلْهُوَ بِأَسْهُمِهِ»،

ابن وہب نے کہا : مجھے عمرو بن حارث نے ابوعلی ( ثمامہ بن شفی ) سے خبر دی ، انہوں نے حضرت عقبہ بن عامر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ، کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا : " جلد ہی تمہارے لیے بہت سی زمینوں ( پر قبضے ) کے دروازے کھول دیے جائیں گے اور اللہ تمہارے لیے کافی ہو گا ، اس لیے تم میں سے کوئی اپنے تیروں کی مشق سے غافل نہ رہے ۔ "

It has been reported by 'Abd al-Rahman b. Shamasa that Fuqaim al- Lakhmi said to Uqba b. Amir: You frequent between these two targets and you are an old man, so you will be finding it very hard. 'Uqba said: But for a thing I heard from the Prophet ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), I would not strain myself. Harith (one of the narrators in the chain of transmitters) said: I asked Ibn Shamasa: What was that? He said that he (the Holy Prophet) said: Who learnt archery and then gave it up is not from us. or he has been guilty of disobedience (to Allah's Apostle).

It has been narrated on the authority of Thauban that the Messenger of Allah (?) said: A group of people from my Umma will always remain triumphant on the right path and continue to be triumphant (against their opponents). He who deserts them shall not be able to do them any harm. They will remain in this position until Allah's Command is executed (i.e. Qiyamah is established). In Qutaiba's version of the tradition, we do not have the words: They will remain in this position.

It has been narrated on the authority of Mughira who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (?) say: A group of people from my Umma will continue to be triumphant over the people until the Command of Allah overtakes them while they are still triumphant.

It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura that the Prophet (?) said: This religion will continue to exist, and a group of people from the Muslims will continue to fight for its protection until the Hour is established.
