Hajj?j bin ash-Sh??ir narrated to me, Ahmad- meaning Ibn Y?nus- narrated to us, Z??idah narrated to us, on authority of al-A?mash, on authority of Ibr?h?m that al-H?rith said: ?I studied the Qur??n for three years and the revelation for two years?; or he said: ??the revelation in three years and the Qur??n in two years
وحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ الْحَارِثَ، قَالَ: «تَعَلَّمْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي ثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ، وَالْوَحْيَ فِي سَنَتَيْنِ» أَوْ قَالَ «الْوَحْيَ فِي ثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ، والْقُرْآنَ فِي سَنَتَيْنِ»
  حجاج بن شاعر ‘ احمد بن یونس نے ابراہیم نخعی سے روایت کی کہ حارث ( اعور ) نے کہا : میں نے قرآن تین سال میں سیکھا اور وحی دو سال میں ( یا کہا ) : وحی تین سال میں اور قرآن دو سال میں ۔ لغت میں وحی کے کئی معانی ہیں ، مثلاً : اشارہ کرنا ، کتابت ، الہام اور خفیہ کلام وغیرہ ، مگر اسلامی اصطلاح میں وحی اللہ کی طرف سے مقررہ طریقوں میں سے کسی طریقے سے ، اپنے رسول کی طرف کلام ، پیغام وغیرہ بھجوانا ہے ۔ حارث کی اس بات سے اسلامی اصطلاحات کے معاملے میں اس کی جہالت کا پتہ چلتا ہے ۔
