This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters (and the words are): He will be required to work (in order to secure freedom) for that por- tion in which he has not been emancipated, without overburdening him.

وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عِيسَى: «ثُمَّ يُسْتَسْعَى فِي نَصِيبِ الَّذِي لَمْ يُعْتِقْ غَيْرَ مَشْقُوقٍ عَلَيْهِ

علی بن مسہر ، محمد بن بشر اور عیسیٰ بن یونس سب نے ابن ابی عروبہ سے اسی سند کے ساتھ حدیث بیان کی اور عیسیٰ کی حدیث میں ہے : " اسے کسی مشقت میں ڈالے بغیر ، اس شخص کے حصے ( کی ادائیگی ) کے لیے کام لیا جائے گا جس نے آزاد نہیں کیا

Imran b. Husain reported that a person who had no other property emancipated six slaves of his at the time of his death. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) called for them and divided them into three sections, cast lots amongst them, and set two free and kept four in slavery; and he (the Holy Prophet) spoke severely of him.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah said that a person among the Ansar declared his slave free after his death, as he had no other property. This news reached the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and he said: Who will buy him from me? And Nu'aim b. al-Nahham bought him for eight hundred dirhams and he handed them over to him, 'Amr (one of the narrators) said: I heard Jabir b. 'Abdullah as saying: He was a Coptic slave, and he died in the first year (of the Caliphate of 'Abdullah b. Zubair).

Jabir is reported to have said: A person amongst the Ansar who had no other property declared a slave free after his death. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) sold him, and Ibn al-Nahham bought him and he was a Coptic slave (who) died in the first year of the Caliphate of Ibn Zubair.
