Imran b. Husain reported that a person who had no other property emancipated six slaves of his at the time of his death. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) called for them and divided them into three sections, cast lots amongst them, and set two free and kept four in slavery; and he (the Holy Prophet) spoke severely of him.

دَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، «أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَعْتَقَ سِتَّةَ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَهُ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ، لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرَهُمْ، فَدَعَا بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَجَزَّأَهُمْ أَثْلَاثًا، ثُمَّ أَقْرَعَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ، وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً، وَقَالَ لَهُ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا

اسماعیل بن علیہ نے ایوب سے ، انہوں نے ابوقلابہ سے ، انہوں نے ابومہلب سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ ایک آدمی نے اپنی موت کے وقت اپنے چھ غلام آزاد کیے اور اس کے پاس ان کے سوا اور کوئی مال نہ تھا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں بلوایا اور تین گروپوں میں تقسیم کیا ، پھر ان کے درمیان قرعہ ڈالا ، اس کے بعد دو کو آزاد کر دیا اور چار کو غلام ہی برقرار رکھا اور آپ نے اسے سرزنش کی

Jabir b. 'Abdullah said that a person among the Ansar declared his slave free after his death, as he had no other property. This news reached the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) and he said: Who will buy him from me? And Nu'aim b. al-Nahham bought him for eight hundred dirhams and he handed them over to him, 'Amr (one of the narrators) said: I heard Jabir b. 'Abdullah as saying: He was a Coptic slave, and he died in the first year (of the Caliphate of 'Abdullah b. Zubair).

Jabir is reported to have said: A person amongst the Ansar who had no other property declared a slave free after his death. Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) sold him, and Ibn al-Nahham bought him and he was a Coptic slave (who) died in the first year of the Caliphate of Ibn Zubair.
