Abdullah b. Umar (Allah -be pleased with them) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Hereafter to travel for more than three nights journey except when there is a Mahram with her.

وحدثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَزَعَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعًا فَأَعْجَبْنَنِي وَآنَقْنَنِي، نَهَى أَنْ تُسَافِرَ الْمَرْأَةُ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمَيْنِ، إِلَّا وَمَعَهَا زَوْجُهَا، أَوْ ذُو مَحْرَمٍ وَاقْتَصَّ بَاقِيَ الْحَدِيثِ

شعبہ نے ہمیں عبد الملک بن عمیر سے حدیث بیان کی ۔ کہا میں نے قزعہ سے سنا انھوں نے کہا میں نے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے سنا ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے چار باتیں سنیں جو مجھے بہت اچھی لگیں اور بہت پسند آئیں ۔ آپ نے منع فر ما یا کہ کو ئی عورت دو دن کا سفر کرے مگر اس طرح کہ اس کے ساتھ اس کا شو ہر یا کو ئی محرم ہو ۔ اور آگے باقی حدیث بیان کی ۔

Abu Sa'id (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: A woman should not set out on three (days') journey, but in the company of a Mahram.

Abu Sa'id Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: A woman should not set out on a journey extending beyond three nights but with a Mahram.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Qatada with the same chain of transmitters and he said: More than three (days) except in the company of a Mahram.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) as saying: It is not lawful for a Muslim woman to travel a night's journey except when there is a Mahram with her.
