Hafsa reported: When the dawn appeared, the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) observed two rak'ahs (of Sunnah prayers).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ

سالم نے اپنے والد ( عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ) سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : حضرت حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے مجھے خبر دی کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے جب فجر روشن ہوجاتی تو آپ دو رکعتیں نماز پڑھتے تھے ۔

A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to observe two rak'ahs of Sunnah (prayer) when he heard the Adhin and shortened them.
