A'isha reported: The Apostle of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said the afternoon prayer as the sun shone in my apartment, and the afternoon shadow did not extend further. Abu Bakr said: The afternoon shadow did not appear to extend further.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، قَالَ عَمْرٌو: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ طَالِعَةٌ فِي حُجْرَتِي، لَمْ يَفِئِ الْفَيْءُ بَعْدُ»، وقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ: لَمْ يَظْهَرِ الْفَيْءُ بَعْدُ
  ) ابوبکر بن ابی شبیہ اور عمرو ناقد نے حدیث سنائی ، عمرو نے کہا : سفیان نے ہمیں زہری سے حدیث سنائی ، انھوں نے عروہ سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ عصر کی نماز پڑھتے تھے اور سورج میرےحجرے میں چمک رہا ہوتا تھا ، ابھی ( صحن کے مشرق حصے میں ) سایہ نہ پھیلاہوتا تھا ۔ ابو بکر نے ( معنی کے وضاحت کرتے ہوئے ) کہا : ابھی ( مشرق کی طرف ) سایہ ظاہر نہ ہوا ہوتا تھا ۔

A'isha, the wife of the Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), said that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said the afternoon prayer (at the time) when the sun shone in her apartment and its shadow did not extend beyond her apartment.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Prophet ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: When you pray Fajr, its time is until the first part of the sun appears. When you pray Zuhr, its time is until 'Asr comes. When you pray 'Asr, its time is until the sun turns yellow. When you pray Maghrib, its time is until the twilight has disappeared. When you pray 'Isha, its time is until half of the night has passed.

'Amr reported the Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saying: The time of the noon prayer (lasts) as long as it is not afternoon, and the time of the afternoon prayer (lasts) as long as the sun does not turn pale and the time of the evening prayer (lasts) as long as the spreading appearance of the redness above the horizon after sunset does not sink down, and the, time of the night prayer (lasts) by midnight and the time of the morning prayer (lasts) as long as the sun dots not rise.

Abdullah b. 'Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: The time of the noon prayer is when the sun passes the meridian and a man's shadow is the same (length) as his height, (and it lasts) as long as the time for the afternoon prayer has not come; the time for the afternoon prayer is as long as the sun has not become pale; the time of the evening prayer is as long as the twilight has not ended; the time of the night prayer is up to the middle of the average night and the time of the morning prayer is from the appearance of dawn, as long as the sun has not risen; but when the sun rises, refrain from prayer for it rises between the horns of the devil.
