A'isha, the wife of the Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ), said that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said the afternoon prayer (at the time) when the sun shone in her apartment and its shadow did not extend beyond her apartment.
وَحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا، لَمْ يَظْهَرِ الْفَيْءُ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا
  یونس ابن شہاب سے روایت کی ، کہا مجھے عروہ بن زبیر نے بتایا کہ مجھے نبی اکرم ﷺ کی زوجہ حضرت عائشہ نے خبر دی کہ رسو ل اللہ ﷺ عصر کی نماز اس وقت پڑھتے تھے جبکہ دھوپ ان کےحجرے میں ہوتی ( مشرق کی طرف پھیلتا ) سایہ ان کے حجرے میں نہ پھیلا ہوتا ۔

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that the Prophet ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: When you pray Fajr, its time is until the first part of the sun appears. When you pray Zuhr, its time is until 'Asr comes. When you pray 'Asr, its time is until the sun turns yellow. When you pray Maghrib, its time is until the twilight has disappeared. When you pray 'Isha, its time is until half of the night has passed.

'Amr reported the Apostle ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) saying: The time of the noon prayer (lasts) as long as it is not afternoon, and the time of the afternoon prayer (lasts) as long as the sun does not turn pale and the time of the evening prayer (lasts) as long as the spreading appearance of the redness above the horizon after sunset does not sink down, and the, time of the night prayer (lasts) by midnight and the time of the morning prayer (lasts) as long as the sun dots not rise.

Abdullah b. 'Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) said: The time of the noon prayer is when the sun passes the meridian and a man's shadow is the same (length) as his height, (and it lasts) as long as the time for the afternoon prayer has not come; the time for the afternoon prayer is as long as the sun has not become pale; the time of the evening prayer is as long as the twilight has not ended; the time of the night prayer is up to the middle of the average night and the time of the morning prayer is from the appearance of dawn, as long as the sun has not risen; but when the sun rises, refrain from prayer for it rises between the horns of the devil.

Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As reported: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) was asked about the times of prayers. He said: The time for the morning prayer (lasts) as long as the first visible part of the rising sun does not appear and the time of the noon prayer is when the sun declines from the zenith and there is not a time for the afternoon prayer and the time for the afternoon prayer is so long as the sun does not become pale and its first visible part does not set, and the time for the evening prayer is that when the sun disappears and (it lasts) till the twilight is no more and the time for the night prayer is up to the midnight.
