Narrated `Abdullah: I heard the Prophet saying... (as above, no. 550).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِئْسَ مَا لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ : نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ ، بَلْ نُسِّيَ وَاسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ . حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، مِثْلَهُ . تَابَعَهُ بِشْرٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، وَتَابَعَهُ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

ہم سے محمد بن عرعرہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے منصور نے، ان سے ابووائل نے اور ان سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ بہت برا ہے کسی شخص کا یہ کہنا کہ میں فلاں فلاں آیت بھول گیا بلکہ یوں ( کہنا چاہیے ) کہ مجھے بھلا دیا گیا اور قرآن مجید کا پڑھنا جاری رکھو کیونکہ انسانوں کے دلوں سے دور ہو جانے میں وہ اونٹ کے بھاگنے سے بھی بڑھ کر ہے۔ ہم سے عثمان بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے جریر بن عبدالحمید نے، اور ان سے منصور بن معتمر نے پچھلی حدیث کی طرح۔ محمد بن عرعرہ کے ساتھ اس کو بشر بن عبداللہ نے بھی عبداللہ بن مبارک سے، انہوں نے شعبہ سے روایت کیا ہے اور محمد بن عرعرہ کے ساتھ اس کو ابن جریج نے بھی عبدہ سے، انہوں نے شقیق سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن مسعود سے ایسا ہی روایت کیا ہے۔

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, Keep on reciting the Qur'an, for, by Him in Whose Hand my life is, Qur'an runs away (is forgotten) faster than camels that are released from their tying ropes.

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair: Those Suras which you people call the Mufassal, are the Muhkam. And Ibn `Abbas said, Allah's Apostle died when I was a boy of ten years, and I had learnt the Muhkam (of the Qur'an).

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair: Ibn `Abbas said, I have learnt all the Muhkam Suras during the life time of Allah's Apostle. I said to him, 'What is meant by the Muhkam? He replied, The Mufassal.

Narrated Aisha: The Prophet heard a man reciting the Qur'an in the mosque and said, May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such-and-such Verses of such a Surah.
