Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, Keep on reciting the Qur'an, for, by Him in Whose Hand my life is, Qur'an runs away (is forgotten) faster than camels that are released from their tying ropes.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ بُرَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فِي عُقُلِهَا .

ہم سے محمد بن علاء نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے برید نے، ان سے ابوبردہ نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”قرآن مجید کا پڑھتے رہنا لازم پکڑ لو“ اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے وہ اونٹ کے اپنی رسی تڑوا کر بھاگ جانے سے زیادہ تیزی سے بھاگتا ہے۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin Mughaffal: I saw Allah's Apostle reciting Surat-al-Fath on his she-camel on the day of the Conquest of Mecca.

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair: Those Suras which you people call the Mufassal, are the Muhkam. And Ibn `Abbas said, Allah's Apostle died when I was a boy of ten years, and I had learnt the Muhkam (of the Qur'an).

Narrated Sa`id bin Jubair: Ibn `Abbas said, I have learnt all the Muhkam Suras during the life time of Allah's Apostle. I said to him, 'What is meant by the Muhkam? He replied, The Mufassal.

Narrated Aisha: Allah's Apostle heard a man reciting the Qur'an at night, and said, May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such-and-such Verses of such-and-such Suras, which I was caused to forget.

Narrated `Abdullah: The Prophet said, Why does anyone of the people say, 'I have forgotten such-and-such Verses (of the Qur'an)?' He, in fact, is caused (by Allah) to forget.
