Narrated Rabi` bin Hirash: `Uqba said to Hudhaifa, Won't you narrate to us what you heard from Allah's Apostle ? Hudhaifa said, I heard him saying, 'Death approached a man and when he had no hope of surviving, he said to his family, 'When I die, gather for me much wood and build a fire (to burn me),. When the fire has eaten my flesh and reached my bones, take the bones and grind them and scatter the resulting powder in the sea on a hot (or windy) day.' (That was done.) But Allah collected his particles and asked (him), 'Why did you do so?' He replied, 'For fear of You.' So Allah forgave him. Narrated `Abdu Malik: As above, saying, On a windy day.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُقْبَةُ لِحُذَيْفَةَ أَلَا تُحَدِّثُنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : إِنَّ رَجُلًا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ لَمَّا أَيِسَ مِنَ الْحَيَاةِ أَوْصَى أَهْلَهُ إِذَا مُتُّ فَاجْمَعُوا لِي حَطَبًا كَثِيرًا ، ثُمَّ أَوْرُوا نَارًا حَتَّى إِذَا أَكَلَتْ لَحْمِي وَخَلَصَتْ إِلَى عَظْمِي فَخُذُوهَا فَاطْحَنُوهَا فَذَرُّونِي فِي الْيَمِّ فِي يَوْمٍ حَارٍّ أَوْ رَاحٍ فَجَمَعَهُ اللَّهُ ، فَقَالَ : لِمَ فَعَلْتَ ، قَالَ : خَشْيَتَكَ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ، قَالَ عُقْبَةُ : وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ ، وَقَالَ : فِي يَوْمٍ رَاحٍ .

ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا کہا، ہم سے ابوعوانہ نے ان سے عبدالملک بن عمیر نے، ان سے ربعی بن حراش نے بیان کیا کہ عقبہ بن عمرو ابومسعود انصاری نے حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جو حدیثیں سنی ہیں وہ آپ ہم سے کیوں بیان نہیں کرتے؟ حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ کہتے سنا تھا کہ ایک شخص کی موت کا وقت جب قریب ہوا اور وہ زندگی سے بالکل ناامید ہو گیا تو اپنے گھر والوں کو وصیت کی کہ جب میری موت ہو جائے تو پہلے میرے لیے بہت سی لکڑیاں جمع کرنا اور اس سے آگ جلانا۔ جب آگ میرے جسم کو خاکستر بنا چکے اور صرف ہڈیاں باقی رہ جائیں تو ہڈیوں کو پیس لینا اور کسی سخت گرمی کے دن میں یا ( یوں فرمایا کہ ) سخت ہوا کے دن مجھ کو ہوا میں اڑا دینا۔ لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ نے اسے جمع کیا اور پوچھا کہ تو نے ایسا کیوں کیا تھا؟ اس نے کہا کہ تیرے ہی ڈر سے۔ آخر اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کو بخش دیا۔ عقبہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں نے بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے یہ حدیث سنی ہے۔ ہم سے موسیٰ نے بیان کیا کہا ہم سے ابوعوانہ نے بیان کیا کہا ہم سے عبدالملک نے بیان کیا اور کہا کہ اس روایت میں «في يوم راح» ہے ( سوا شک کے ) اس کے معنی بھی کسی تیز ہوا کے دن کے ہیں۔

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, A man used to give loans to the people and used to say to his servant, 'If the debtor is poor, forgive him, so that Allah may forgive us.' So when he met Allah (after his death), Allah forgave him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, A man used to do sinful deeds, and when death came to him, he said to his sons, 'After my death, burn me and then crush me, and scatter the powder in the air, for by Allah, if Allah has control over me, He will give me such a punishment as He has never given to anyone else.' When he died, his sons did accordingly. Allah ordered the earth saying, 'Collect what you hold of his particles.' It did so, and behold! There he was (the man) standing. Allah asked (him), 'What made you do what you did?' He replied, 'O my Lord! I was afraid of You.' So Allah forgave him. Another narrator said The man said, Fear of You, O Lord!

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, A lady was punished because of a cat which she had imprisoned till it died. She entered the (Hell) Fire because of it, for she neither gave it food nor water as she had imprisoned it, nor set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.
