Translation

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, A man used to do sinful deeds, and when death came to him, he said to his sons, 'After my death, burn me and then crush me, and scatter the powder in the air, for by Allah, if Allah has control over me, He will give me such a punishment as He has never given to anyone else.' When he died, his sons did accordingly. Allah ordered the earth saying, 'Collect what you hold of his particles.' It did so, and behold! There he was (the man) standing. Allah asked (him), 'What made you do what you did?' He replied, 'O my Lord! I was afraid of You.' So Allah forgave him. Another narrator said The man said, Fear of You, O Lord!

حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُسْرِفُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ فَلَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ ، قَالَ : لِبَنِيهِ إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَأَحْرِقُونِي ثُمَّ اطْحَنُونِي ثُمَّ ذَرُّونِي فِي الرِّيحِ فَوَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ قَدَرَ عَلَيَّ رَبِّي لَيُعَذِّبَنِّي عَذَابًا مَا عَذَّبَهُ أَحَدًا ، فَلَمَّا مَاتَ فُعِلَ بِهِ ذَلِكَ فَأَمَرَ اللَّهُ الْأَرْضَ ، فَقَالَ : اجْمَعِي مَا فِيكِ مِنْهُ فَفَعَلَتْ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَائِمٌ ، فَقَالَ : مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ ؟ ، قَالَ : يَا رَبِّ خَشْيَتُكَ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ ، وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ مَخَافَتُكَ يَا رَبِّ .

ہم سے عبداللہ بن محمد مسندی نے بیان کیا کہا ہم سے ہشام نے بیان کیا کہا ہم کو معمر نے خبر دی، انہیں زہری نے انہیں حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن نے اور انہیں ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”ایک شخص بہت گناہ کیا کرتا تھا جب اس کی موت کا وقت قریب آیا تو اپنے بیٹوں سے اس نے کہا کہ جب میں مر جاؤں تو مجھے جلا ڈالنا پھر میری ہڈیوں کو پیس کر ہوا میں اڑا دینا اللہ کی قسم! اگر میرے رب نے مجھے پکڑ لیا تو مجھے اتنا سخت عذاب کرے گا جو پہلے کسی کو بھی اس نے نہیں کیا ہو گا۔ جب وہ مر گیا تو ( اس کی وصیت کے مطابق ) اس کے ساتھ ایسا ہی کیا گیا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے زمین کو حکم فرمایا کہ اگر ایک ذرہ بھی کہیں اس کے جسم کا تیرے پاس ہے تو اسے جمع کر کے لا۔ زمین حکم بجا لائی اور وہ بندہ اب ( اپنے رب کے سامنے ) کھڑا ہوا تھا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے دریافت فرمایا: تو نے ایسا کیوں کیا؟ اس نے عرض کیا: اے رب! تیرے ڈر کی وجہ سے۔ آخر اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس کی مغفرت کر دی۔ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے سوا دوسرے صحابہ نے اس حدیث میں لفظ «خشيتك‏» کے بدل «مخافتك» کہا ہے ( دونوں لفظوں کا مطلب ایک ہی ہے ) ۔

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: Allah's Apostle said, A lady was punished because of a cat which she had imprisoned till it died. She entered the (Hell) Fire because of it, for she neither gave it food nor water as she had imprisoned it, nor set it free to eat from the vermin of the earth.

Narrated Abu Masud `Uqba: The Prophet said, One of the sayings of the prophets which the people have got, is. 'If you do not feel ashamed, then do whatever you like.

Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet said, While a man was walking, dragging his dress with pride, he was caused to be swallowed by the earth and will go on sinking in it till the Day of Resurrection.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, We are the last (to come) but we will be the foremost on the Day of Resurrection, nations were given the Book (i.e. Scripture) before us, and we were given the Holy Book after them. This (i.e. Friday) is the day about which they differed. So the next day (i.e. Saturday) was prescribed for the Jews and the day after it (i.e. Sunday) for the Christians.
