Narrated Nafi`: Ibn `Umar said, In the lifetime of the Prophet I dreamt that a piece of silk cloth was in my hand and it flew with me to whichever part of Paradise I wanted. I also saw as if two persons (i.e. angels) came to me and wanted to take me to Hell. Then an angel met us and told me not to be afraid. He then told them to leave me.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَأَنَّ بِيَدِي قِطْعَةَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ فَكَأَنِّي لَا أُرِيدُ مَكَانًا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا طَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ، وَرَأَيْتُ كَأَنَّ اثْنَيْنِ أَتَيَانِي أَرَادَا أَنْ يَذْهَبَا بِي إِلَى النَّارِ ، فَتَلَقَّاهُمَا مَلَكٌ , فَقَالَ : لَمْ تُرَعْ خَلِّيَا عَنْهُ .

ہم سے ابوالنعمان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے حماد بن زید نے بیان کیا، ان سے ایوب سختیانی نے، ان سے نافع نے، ان سے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں یہ خواب دیکھا کہ گویا ایک گاڑھے ریشمی کپڑے کا ایک ٹکڑا میرے ہاتھ ہے۔ جیسے میں جنت میں جس جگہ کا بھی ارادہ کرتا ہوں تو یہ ادھر اڑا کے مجھ کو لے جاتا ہے اور میں نے دیکھا کہ جیسے دو فرشتے میرے پاس آئے اور انہوں نے مجھے دوزخ کی طرف لے جانے کا ارادہ کیا ہی تھا کہ ایک فرشتہ ان سے آ کر ملا اور ( مجھ سے ) کہا کہ ڈرو نہیں ( اور ان سے کہا کہ ) اسے چھوڑ دو۔

Hafsa narrated one of my dreams to the Prophet and the Prophet said, Abdullah is a good man. Would that he offer the night prayer (Tahajjud)! So after that day `Abdullah (bin `Umar) started offering Tahajjud.

The companions of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to tell him their dreams that (Laila-tul-Qadr) was on the 27th of the month of Ramadan. The Prophet said, I see that your dreams agree on the last ten nights of Ramadan and so whoever is in search of it should seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Narrated `Aisha;: Allah's Apostle offered the `Isha' prayer (and then got up at the Tahajjud time) and offered eight rak`at and then offered two rak`at while sitting. He then offered two rak`at in between the Adhan and Iqama (of the Fajr prayer) and he never missed them.
