Ibn Ubaid bin Umair narrated from his father: Ibn Umar was clinging on the two corners (in a manner that I had not seen any of the Companions of the Prophet doing) so I said: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman! You are clinging on the two corners in a manner that I have not seen any of the Companions of the Prophet clining.' So he said: 'I do it because I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: Touching them atones for sins. And I heard him saying: Whoever performs Tawaf around this House seven times and he keeps track of it, then it is as if he freed a slave. And I heard him saying: One foot is not put down, nor another raised except that Allah removes a sin from him and records a good merit for him.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُزَاحِمُ عَلَى الرُّكْنَيْنِ زِحَامًا مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُ. فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّكَ تُزَاحِمُ عَلَى الرُّكْنَيْنِ زِحَامًا مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُزَاحِمُ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ أَفْعَلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ مَسْحَهُمَا كَفَّارَةٌ لِلْخَطَايَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ طَافَ بِهَذَا الْبَيْتِ أُسْبُوعًا فَأَحْصَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَانَ كَعِتْقِ رَقَبَةٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَضَعُ قَدَمًا وَلَا يَرْفَعُ أُخْرَى إِلَّا حَطَّ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ خَطِيئَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَتَبَ لَهُ بِهَا حَسَنَةً . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ.

عبید بن عمیر کہتے ہیں کہ ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما حجر اسود اور رکن یمانی پر ایسی بھیڑ لگاتے تھے جو میں نے صحابہ میں سے کسی کو کرتے نہیں دیکھا۔ تو میں نے پوچھا: ابوعبدالرحمٰن! آپ دونوں رکن پر ایسی بھیڑ لگاتے ہیں کہ میں نے صحابہ میں سے کسی کو ایسا کرتے نہیں دیکھا؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: اگر میں ایسا کرتا ہوں تو اس لیے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے: ”ان پر ہاتھ پھیرنا گناہوں کا کفارہ ہے“۔ اور میں نے آپ کو فرماتے سنا ہے: ”جس نے اس گھر کا طواف سات مرتبہ ( سات چکر ) کیا اور اسے گنا، تو یہ ایسے ہی ہے گویا اس نے ایک غلام آزاد کیا۔“ اور میں نے آپ کو فرماتے سنا ہے: ”وہ جتنے بھی قدم رکھے اور اٹھائے گا اللہ ہر ایک کے بدلے اس کی ایک غلطی معاف کرے گا اور ایک نیکی لکھے گا“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- حماد بن زید نے بطریق: «عطا بن السائب، عن ابن عبید بن عمير، عن ابن عمر» روایت کی ہے اور اس میں انہوں نے ابن عبید کے باپ کے واسطے کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔

Ibn Abbas narrated that : the Prophet said: Tawaf around the House is similar to Salat except that you talk during it. So whoever talks in it, then let him not say but good.

Ibn Abbas narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said about the (Black) Stone: By Allah! Allah will raise it on the Day of Resurrection with two eyes by which it sees and a tongue that it speaks with, testifying to whoever touched it in truth.
