(Another chain) from Muhammad bin Ka'b who said: I went to Anas bin Malik during Ramadan and he mentioned a similar narration (as no. 799).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ أَنَسَ بْنُ مَالِكٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ هُوَ مَدِينِيٌّ ثِقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ أَخُو إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ هُوَ ابْنُ نَجِيحٍ وَالِدُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ يُضَعِّفُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ إِلَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لِلْمُسَافِرِ أَنْ يُفْطِرَ فِي بَيْتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَيْسَ لَهُ أَنْ يَقْصُرَ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْ جِدَارِ الْمَدِينَةِ أَوِ الْقَرْيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ:‏‏‏‏ إِسْحَاق بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ.

اس سند سے بھی محمد بن کعب سے روایت ہے کہ میں رمضان میں انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کے پاس آیا پھر انہوں نے اسی طرح ذکر کیا۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- اور محمد بن جعفر ہی ابن ابی کثیر مدینی ہیں اور ثقہ ہیں اور یہی اسماعیل بن جعفر کے بھائی ہیں اور عبداللہ بن جعفر علی بن عبداللہ مدینی کے والد ابن نجیح ہیں، یحییٰ بن معین ان کی تضعیف کرتے تھے، ۲- بعض اہل علم اسی حدیث کی طرف گئے ہیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ مسافر کے لیے جائز ہے کہ وہ اپنے گھر سے نکلنے سے پہلے افطار کرے لیکن اسے نماز قصر کرنے کی اجازت نہیں جب تک کہ شہر یا گاؤں کی فصیل سے باہر نہ نکل جائے۔ یہی اسحاق بن ابراہیم بن راہویہ حنظلی کا قول ہے۔

Al-Hasan bin Ali narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: The gift for the fasting person is (fragrant) oil and a censer.

Aishah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: Al-Fitr is the day that the people break the fast, and Al-Adha is the day that the people sacrifice.

Anas bin Malik narrated: The Prophet would perform I'tikaf during the last ten (nights) of Ramadan. One year he did not perform I'tikaf, so he performed I'tikaf for twenty (nights) in the following year.

Aishah narrated: When the Messenger of Allah performed I'tikaf, he would bring his head near me so I could comb it, and he would not enter the house except for some personal needs.

Abu Dharr narrated: We fasted with the Prophet, so he did not pray (the night prayer) with us until seven (nights) of the month remained. Then he (pbuh) led us in prayer until a third of the night had gone, then he did not lead us in prayer on the sixth. Then he led us in prayer on the fifth until half of the night had gone. We said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah! Wouldn't you lead us in prayer for the remainder of the night?' He said: 'Indeed, whoever stands (praying) with the Imam until he finished, then it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night.; Then he did not lead us in prayer until three (nights) of the month remained. Then he led us in prayer on the third and he called his family and his women to pray with us until we feared missing the Falah I (Jubair bin Nufair) said to him: What is the Falah He said: The Suhur.
