Translation

Habib bin Zaid said: I heard a freed slave of ours called Laila narrated from [his (Habib's) grandmother] Umm Amarah bint Ka'b Al-Ansar, that the Prophet entered upon her and some food was brought to him. He said: 'Eat.' She said: 'I am fasting.' So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Indeed the angels send Salat upon the fasting person when (others) eat in his presence, until they finish.' And perhaps he said: 'Until they have eaten their fill.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ مَوْلَاةً لَنَا يُقَالُ لَهَا لَيْلَى تُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ عُمَارَةَ بِنْتِ كَعْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَدَّمَتْ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلِي ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي صَائِمَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الصَّائِمَ تُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ إِذَا أُكِلَ عِنْدَهُ حَتَّى يَفْرُغُوا . وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَتَّى يَشْبَعُوا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شَرِيكٍ.

ام عمارہ بنت کعب انصاریہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان کے پاس آئے، انہوں نے آپ کو کھانا پیش کیا، تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”تم بھی کھاؤ“، انہوں نے کہا: میں روزہ سے ہوں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”روزہ دار کے لیے فرشتے استغفار کرتے رہتے ہیں، جب اس کے پاس کھایا جاتا ہے جب تک کہ کھانے والے فارغ نہ ہو جائیں“۔ بعض روایتوں میں ہے ”جب تک کہ وہ آسودہ نہ ہو جائیں“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اور یہ شریک کی ( اوپر والی ) حدیث سے زیادہ صحیح ہے۔
