Aishah narrated: The Messenger of Allah would fast Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays in one months, and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the next month.
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ السَّبْتَ وَالْأَحَدَ وَالِاثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ الشَّهْرِ الْآخَرِ الثُّلَاثَاءَ وَالْأَرْبِعَاءَ وَالْخَمِيسَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ.
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک مہینہ ہفتہ ( سنیچر ) ، اتوار اور سوموار ( دوشنبہ ) کو اور دوسرے مہینہ منگل، بدھ، اور جمعرات کو روزہ رکھتے تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- عبدالرحمٰن بن مہدی نے اس حدیث کو سفیان سے روایت کیا ہے اور اسے مرفوع نہیں کیا ہے۔

Ubaidullah (bin Muslim) Al-Qurashi narrated from his father who said: I asked - or; the Prophet was asked - about fasting daily. So he said: 'Your family has a right over you.' Then he said: 'Fast Ramadan and that which is after it, and every Wednesday and Thursday. If you do that, then you will have fasted daily, as well as broken (the fast).'
