Ibn Abbas narrated: One of the wives of the Prophet performed Ghusl with a bowl. Allah's Messenger wanted to perform Wudu with it, so she said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Indeed I am ]unub.' So he said: 'Indeed, water does not become Junub.'

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اغْتَسَلَ بَعْضُ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَفْنَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَرَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ جُنُبًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ لَا يُجْنِبُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ،‏‏‏‏ وَمَالِكٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم کی ایک بیوی نے ایک لگن ( ٹب ) سے ( پانی لے کر ) غسل کیا، رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے اس ( بچے ہوئے پانی ) سے وضو کرنا چاہا، تو انہوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں ناپاک تھی، آپ نے فرمایا: پانی جنبی نہیں ہوتا ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہی سفیان ثوری، مالک اور شافعی کا قول ہے۔

Abu Sa'eed AI-Khudri narrated: It was said, 'O Allah's Messenger! Shall we use the water of Buda'ah well to perform ablution while it is a well in which menstruation rags, flesh of dogs and the putrid are dumped? Allah's Messenger said: 'Indeed water is pure, nothing makes it impure.'

Ibn Umar narrated: I heard AlIah's Messenger while he was being asked about water in open areas of the land, and predators and beasts come to it. He said: 'So Allah's Messenger said: 'When the water is two Qullah it does not carry filth.'

Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Prophet said: Let none of you urinate [in still water, then perform Wudu with it. 1

Abu Hurairah narrated: A man asked Allah's Messenger 'O Messenger of Allah! We sail the seas, and we only carry a little water with us. If we use it for Wudu then we will go thirsty. So shall we perform Wudu from the (water of the) sea?' Allah's Messenger said: 'Its water is pure, and its dead are lawful.'

Ibn Abbas narrated: The Prophet passed by two graves. He said: 'These two are being punished. And they are not being punished for something major. As for this one, he would not protect himself from his urine. As for this one, he used to spread Namimah (slander).'

Umm Qais bin Mihsan narrated: I entered upon the Prophet with a son of mine who was not yet eating food. He urinated on him, so he called for water which he sprinkled over it.
