Umar bin Al-Khattab narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: 'Whoever performs Wudu, making Wudu well, then says: (Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan-abduhu wa rasuluhu, Allahummajalni minat tawwabin, waj'alni minal mutatahhirin) 'I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone, there are no partners for Him. And I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah! Make me among the repentant, and make me among those who purify themselves.' Then eight gates of Paradise are opened for him, that may enter by whichever of them wishes.

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ الثَّعْلَبِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، وَأَبيِ عُثْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فُتِحَتْ لَهُ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاءَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَنَسٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَعُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ قَدْ خُولِفَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ وَغَيْرُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَوَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا فِي إِسْنَادِهِ اضْطِرَابٌ يَصِحُّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ كَبِيرُ شَيْءٍ. قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَأَبُو إِدْرِيسَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ عُمَرَ شَيْئًا.

عمر بن خطاب رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی الله علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو وضو کرے اور اچھی طرح کرے پھر یوں کہے: «أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله اللهم اجعلني من التوابين واجعلني من المتطهرين» ”میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں، اے اللہ! مجھے توبہ کرنے والوں اور پاک رہنے والوں میں سے بنا دے“ تو اس کے لیے جنت کے آٹھوں دروازے کھول دیئے جائیں گے وہ جس سے بھی چاہے جنت میں داخل ہو“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- اس باب میں انس اور عقبہ بن عامر رضی الله عنہما سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۲- امام ترمذی نے عمر رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث کے طرق ۱؎ ذکر کرنے کے بعد فرمایا کہ اس حدیث کی سند میں اضطراب ہے، ۳- اس باب میں زیادہ تر چیزیں نبی اکرم صلی الله علیہ وسلم سے صحیح ثابت نہیں ہیں ۲؎۔

Safinah narrated: The Prophet would perform Wudu with a Mudd, and he would perform Ghusl with a Sa.

Amr bin Amir Al-Ansari narrated that he heard Anas bin Malik saying: The Prophet would perform Wudu for every Salat. I said, So what about you, what would you do? He said I wouId pray all of the prayers with one Wudu, as long as we had not committed Hadath (anything that invalidates Wudu).

Sulaiman bin Buraidah narrated that his father said: The Prophet would perform Wudu for every Salat. So during the year of the Conquest, he performed all of the prayers with one Wudu, and he wiped over his Khuff. So Umar said, 'You did something that you have not done before?' He replied: I did it on purpose.
