Narrated Ubayy bin Ka'b: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: Indeed Allah has ordered me to recite the Qur'an to you. So he recited to him: Those who disbelieved were not going to... (98:1) and he recited in it: Indeed the religion with Allah is that which is Hanafiyyah, Muslim, not Judaism, nor Christianity, nor Zoroastrian, whoever does good then it shall not be rejected from him. And he recited to him: If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth he would seek a second, and if he had a second he would seek a third, and nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dirt. And Allah pardons those who repent.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ يُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَرَأَ فِيهَا:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ ذَاتَ الدِّينِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْحَنِيفِيَّةُ الْمُسْلِمَةُ لَا الْيَهُودِيَّةُ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا النَّصْرَانِيَّةُ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا الْمَجُوسِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ يَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا فَلَنْ يُكْفَرَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْهِ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيًا مِنْ مَالٍ لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِ ثَانِيًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَوْ كَانَ لَهُ ثَانِيًا لَابْتَغَى إِلَيْهِ ثَالِثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُرَابُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ . وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ .

ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں قرآن پڑھ کر سناؤں، چنانچہ آپ نے انہیں «لم يكن الذين كفروا» پڑھ کر سنایا، اس میں یہ بات بھی کہ بیشک دین والی، اللہ کے نزدیک تمام ادیان وملل سے کٹ کر اللہ کی جانب یکسو ہو جانے والی مسلمان عورت ہے، نہ یہودی، نصرانی اور مجوسی عورت، جو کوئی نیکی کرے گا تو اس کی ناقدری ہرگز نہیں کی جائے گی اور آپ نے انہیں یہ بھی بتایا کہ انسان کے پاس مال سے بھری ہوئی ایک وادی ہو تو وہ دوسری بھی چاہے گا، اور اگر اسے دوسری مل جائے تو تیسری چاہے گا، اور انسان کا پیٹ صرف مٹی ہی بھر سکے گی اور اللہ اسی کی توبہ قبول کرتا ہے جو واقعی توبہ کرے ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث اس کے علاوہ دوسری سندوں سے بھی آئی ہے، اسے عبداللہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن ابزی نے اپنے والد سے انہوں نے ابی بن کعب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں قرآن پڑھ کر سناؤں“، ۳- اسے قتادہ نے انس سے روایت کیا ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابی بن کعب سے فرمایا: ”اللہ نے مجھے حکم دیا ہے کہ میں تمہیں قرآن پڑھ کر سناؤں“۔

Narrated Ubayy bin Ka'b: Ubayy bin Ka'b that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: If it were not for the Hijrah, I would be a man from the Ansar.

Narrated Shu'bah: from 'Adi bin Thabit, from Al-Bara bin 'Azib, that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ), or - he said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, about the Ansar: 'No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Whoever loves them, then Allah loves him, and whoever hates them then Allah hates him.' So we said to him: Did you hear this from Al-Bara? He said: He narrated it to me.

Narrated Anas: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gathered a group of people from the Ansar and said: Come, is there anyone among you who is from other than you? They said: No, except the son of a sister of ours. So he said: The son of the sister of a people is from them. Then he said: Indeed the Quraish is not far from their time of ignorance and affliction, and I wished that I subdue them and coax them. Are you not happy that the people return with this world and you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? They said: Of course we are. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: If the people were to pass through a valley or a path, and the Ansar passed through a valley or a path then I would pass through the valley or path of the Ansar.

Zaid bin Arqam wrote to Anas bin Malik, comforting him over those of his family and children of his paternal uncle who suffered on the day of Al-Harrah. So he wrote to him: I give you glad tidings of good news from Allah. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah forgive the Ansar and the children of the Ansar, and the children of their children.

Narrated Abu Talhah: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: 'Convey my Salam to your people, because I know them to be modest and patient.'

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Indeed my elite, those whom I lean towards, are the people of my house and my close ones are the Ansar, so forgive those who do wrong from them and accept from those who do good from them.
