Narrated Rib'i bin Hirash: At Ar-Rahbah, 'Ali narrated us: 'On the Day of (the Pledge of) Hudaibiyah, some people from the idolaters came out to us. Among them was Suhail bin 'Amr, and some people among the heads of the idolaters. They said: O Messenger of Allah! People among our fathers, brothers, and slaves have come to you, and they have no knowledge of the religion, rather they came fleeing from our wealth and property, so return them to us. If they do not have knowledge of the religion, then we will teach them. So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: O people of Quraish, you will desist, or Allah will send upon you one who will chop your necks with the sword over the religion. Allah has tested their hearts regarding faith. They said: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? Abu Bakr said to him: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? 'Umar said to him: Who is he O Messenger of Allah? He said: He is the one repairing the sandals. - And he had given 'Ali his sandals to repair them. - He said: Then 'Ali turned to us and said: 'Indeed the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever lies upon me intentionally, then let him take his seat in the Fire.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، بِالرَّحَبَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا نَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِيهِمْ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُنَاسٌ مِنْ رُؤَسَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ خَرَجَ إِلَيْكَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَبْنَائِنَا،‏‏‏‏ وَإِخْوَانِنَا،‏‏‏‏ وَأَرِقَّائِنَا وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِقْهٌ فِي الدِّينِ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِنَّمَا خَرَجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْ أَمْوَالِنَا وَضِيَاعِنَا،‏‏‏‏ فَارْدُدْهُمْ إِلَيْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ فِقْهٌ فِي الدِّينِ سَنُفَقِّهُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ لَتَنْتَهُنَّ أَوْ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ مَنْ يَضْرِبُ رِقَابَكُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ عَلَى الدِّينِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَدِ امْتَحَنَ اللَّهُ قَلْبَهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ خَاصِفُ النَّعْلِ وَكَانَ أَعْطَى عَلِيًّا نَعْلَهُ يَخْصِفُهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا عَلِيٌّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَسَمِعْت الْجَارُودَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ وَكِيعًا يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ حِرَاشٍ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَذْبَةً، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ الْمُعْتَمِرِ أَثْبَتُ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ.

ربعی بن حراش کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سے علی بن ابوطالب رضی الله عنہ نے «رحبیہ» ( مخصوص بیٹھک ) میں بیان کیا، حدیبیہ کے دن مشرکین میں سے کچھ لوگ ہماری طرف نکلے، ان میں سہیل بن عمرو اور مشرکین کے کچھ اور سردار بھی تھے یہ سب آ کر کہنے لگے: اللہ کے رسول! ہمارے بیٹوں، بھائیوں اور غلاموں میں سے کچھ آپ کی طرف نکل کر آ گئے ہیں، انہیں دین کی سمجھ نہیں وہ ہمارے مال اور سامانوں کے درمیان سے بھاگ آئے ہیں، آپ انہیں واپس کر دیجئیے اگر انہیں دین کی سمجھ نہیں تو ہم انہیں سمجھا دیں گے، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اے گروہ قریش! تم اپنی نفسیانیت سے باز آ جاؤ ورنہ اللہ تعالیٰ تمہارے اوپر ایسے شخص کو بھیجے گا جو تمہاری گردنیں اسی دین کی خاطر تلوار سے اڑائے گا، اللہ نے اس کے دل کو ایمان کے لیے جانچ لیا ہے، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: وہ کون شخص ہے؟ اللہ کے رسول! اور آپ سے ابوبکر رضی الله عنہ نے بھی پوچھا: وہ کون ہے اللہ کے رسول؟ اور عمر رضی الله عنہ نے بھی کہ وہ کون ہے اللہ کے رسول؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”وہ جوتی ٹانکنے والا ہے، اور آپ نے علی رضی الله عنہ کو اپنا جوتا دے رکھا تھا، وہ اسے ٹانک رہے تھے، ( راوی کہتے ہیں ) پھر علی رضی الله عنہ ہماری جانب متوجہ ہوئے اور کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے: ”جو میرے اوپر جھوٹ باندھے اسے چاہیئے کہ اپنا ٹھکانہ جہنم کو بنا لے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے، ہم اسے اس سند سے صرف ربعی ہی کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں جسے وہ علی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، ۲- میں نے جارود سے سنا وہ کہہ رہے تھے: میں نے وکیع کو کہتے ہوئے سنا کہ ربعی بن حراش نے اسلام میں کبھی کوئی جھوٹ نہیں بولا، ۳- اور مجھے محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری نے خبر دی اور وہ عبداللہ بن ابی اسود سے روایت کر رہے تھے، وہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے عبدالرحمٰن بن مہدی کو کہتے سنا: منصور بن معتمر اہل کوفہ میں سب سے ثقہ آدمی ہیں۔

Narrated Buraidah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed Allah has ordered me to love four, and He informed me that He loves them. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Name them for us. He said: 'Ali is among them, saying that three times, And Abu Dharr, Al-Miqdad, and Salman. And He ordered me to love them, and He informed me that He loves them.

Narrated Hubshi bin Junadah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Ali is from me and I am from 'Ali. And none should represent me except myself or 'Ali.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made bonds of brotherhood among his Companions. So 'Ali came crying saying: O Messenger of Allah! You have made a bond of brotherhood among your Companions, but you have not made a bond of brotherhood with me and anyone. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: I am your brother, in this life and the next.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: There was a bird with the Prophet (ﷺ), so he said: 'O Allah, send to me the most beloved of Your creatures to eat this bird with me.' So 'Ali came and ate with him.
