Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: We, the people of the Ansar, used to recognize the hypocrites, by their hatred for 'Ali bin Abi Talib.

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَارُونَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَنَعْرِفُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ نَحْنُ مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ بِبُغْضِهِمْ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي هَارُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ شُعْبَةُ فِي أَبِي هَارُونَ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ.

ابو سعید خدری رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم گروہ انصار، منافقوں کو علی رضی الله عنہ سے ان کے بغض رکھنے کی وجہ سے خوب پہچانتے تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف ابوہارون کی روایت سے جانتے ہیں اور شعبہ نے ابوہارون کے سلسلہ میں کلام کیا ہے، ۲- یہ حدیث اعمش سے بھی روایت کی گئی ہے، جسے انہوں نے ابوصالح سے اور ابوصالح نے ابو سعید خدری سے روایت کی ہے۔

Narrated Buraidah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed Allah has ordered me to love four, and He informed me that He loves them. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Name them for us. He said: 'Ali is among them, saying that three times, And Abu Dharr, Al-Miqdad, and Salman. And He ordered me to love them, and He informed me that He loves them.

Narrated Hubshi bin Junadah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Ali is from me and I am from 'Ali. And none should represent me except myself or 'Ali.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made bonds of brotherhood among his Companions. So 'Ali came crying saying: O Messenger of Allah! You have made a bond of brotherhood among your Companions, but you have not made a bond of brotherhood with me and anyone. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: I am your brother, in this life and the next.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: There was a bird with the Prophet (ﷺ), so he said: 'O Allah, send to me the most beloved of Your creatures to eat this bird with me.' So 'Ali came and ate with him.

Narrated 'Ali: When I would ask the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he would give me, and when I would be silent, he would initiate (speech or giving) with me.
