`Abdullah bin Buraidah Al Aslami narrated from his father, who said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man supplicating, and he was saying: ‘O Allah, indeed, I ask you by my testifying that You are Allah, there is none worthy of worship except You, the One, As-Samad, the one who does not beget, nor was begotten, and there is none who is like Him (Allāhumma innī as’aluka bi annī ashhadu annaka antallāh, lā ilāha illā ant, al-aḥaduṣ-ṣamad, alladhī lam yalid wa lam yūlad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥad).” He said: “So he said: ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, the one which if He is called upon by it, He responds, and when He is asked by it, He gives.’”(One of the narrators) Zaid said: “So I mentioned it to Zuhair bin Mu`awiyah years after that, and he said: Abu Ishaq reported to me from Malik bin Mighwal.’” Zaid said: “Then I mentioned it to Sufyan, so he reported it to me from Malik.”

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ الثَّعْلَبِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَدْعُو وَهُوَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏الْأَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَقَدْ سَأَلَ اللَّهَ بِاسْمِهِ الْأَعْظَمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ زَيْدٌ:‏‏‏‏ فَذَكَرْتُهُ لِزُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ بِسِنِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ زَيْدٌ:‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُهُ لِسُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى شَرِيكٌ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَإِنَّمَا أَخَذَهُ أَبُو إِسْحَاق الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ.

بریدہ اسلمی رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک شخص کو ان کلمات کے ساتھ: «اللهم إني أسألك بأني أشهد أنك أنت الله لا إله إلا أنت الأحد الصمد الذي لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا أحد» ”اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے مانگتا ہوں بایں طور کہ میں تجھے گواہ بناتا ہوں اس بات پر کہ تو ہی اللہ ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں ہے، تو اکیلا ( معبود ) ہے تو بے نیاز ہے، ( تو کسی کا محتاج نہیں تیرے سب محتاج ہیں ) ، ( تو ایسا بے نیاز ہے ) جس نے نہ کسی کو جنا ہے اور نہ ہی کسی نے اسے جنا ہے، اور نہ ہی کوئی اس کا ہمسر ہوا ہے“، دعا کرتے ہوئے سنا تو فرمایا: ”قسم ہے اس رب کی جس کے قبضے میں میری جان ہے! اس شخص نے اللہ سے اس کے اس اسم اعظم کے وسیلے سے مانگا ہے کہ جب بھی اس کے ذریعہ دعا کی گئی ہے اس نے وہ دعا قبول کی ہے، اور جب بھی اس کے ذریعہ کوئی چیز مانگی گئی ہے اس نے دی ہے“۔ زید ( راوی ) کہتے ہیں: میں نے یہ حدیث کئی برسوں بعد زہیر بن معاویہ سے ذکر کی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے یہ حدیث ابواسحاق نے مالک بن مغول کے واسطہ سے بیان کی ہے۔ زید کہتے ہیں: پھر میں نے یہ حدیث سفیان ثوری سے ذکر کی تو انہوں نے مجھ سے یہ حدیث مالک کے واسطے سے بیان کی۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- شریک نے یہ حدیث ابواسحاق سے، ابواسحاق نے ابن بریدہ سے، ابن بریدہ نے اپنے والد ( بریدہ رضی الله عنہ ) سے روایت کی ہے، حالانکہ ابواسحاق ہمدانی نے یہ حدیث مالک بن مغول سے روایت کی ہے۔

Fadalah bin `Ubaid narrated: “While the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was seated, a man entered and performed Salat, and he said: ‘O Allah, forgive me, and have mercy upon me.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘You have rushed, O praying person. When you perform Salat and then sit, then praise Allah with what He is deserving of, and send Salat upon me, then call upon Him.’” He said: “Then another man performed Salat after that, so he praised Allah and sent Salat upon the Prophet (ﷺ). The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: ‘O praying person! Supplicate, and you shall be answered.’”

`Amr bin Malik Al-Janbi narrated that he heard Fadalah bin `Ubaid saying: “The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man supplicating in his Salat but he did not send Salat upon the Prophet (ﷺ), so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘This one has rushed.’ Then he called him and said to him, or to someone other than him: ‘When one of you performs Salat, then let him begin by expressing gratitude to Allah and praising Him. Then, let him send Salat upon the Prophet (ﷺ), then let him supplicate after that, whatever he wishes.’”

Asma bint Yazid narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Allah's greatest name is in these two Ayah: ‘And your deity is One deity, there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, Ar-Raḥmān, Ar-Raḥīm.’ And the Opening of Al-`Imrān: ‘Alif. Lām. Mīm. Allah, None has the right to be worshipped but He, the Ever living, the Sustainer.’”

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not respond to a supplication from the heart of one heedless and occupied by play.”

Aishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: “O Allah, grant me health in my body, and grant me health in my sight, and make it the inheritor from me, there is none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous, Glory is to Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne, and all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all that exists (Allāhumma `āfinī fī jasadi, wa `āfinī fī baṣarī, waj`alhul-wāritha minnī, lā ilāha illāllah, al-ḥalīmul-karīm, subḥān Allāhi rabbil-`arshil-aẓīm, wal-ḥamdulillāhi rabbil-`alamīn).”

Abu Hurairah narrated that: Fatimah came to the Prophet (ﷺ), asking him for a servant. So he (ﷺ) said to her: “Say: ‘O Allah, Lord of the Seven Heavens and the Lord of the Magnificent Throne, our Lord, and the Lord of everything, Revealer of the Tawrah, the Injil, and the Quran, Splitter of the seed-grain and the date-stone, I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything that You are holding by the forelock, You are the First, for there is nothing above You, and You are the Last, for there is nothing after you. And you are az-Zahir, for there is nothing above you. And you are Al-Batin, for there is nothing below You. Relieve me from debt, and enrich me from poverty (Allāhumma rabbas samāwātis-sab`i wa rabbal-`arshil-`aẓīm, rabbana, wa rabba kulli shai’in, munzilat-Tawrāti wal-Injīli wal-Qur’ān, fāliqal-habbi wan-nawā, a`ūdhu bika min sharri kulli shai’in anta ākhidhun bināṣiyatihi, antal-awwalu falaisa qablaka shai’un, wa antal-ākhiru falaisa ba`daka shai’un, wa antaẓ-ẓāhiru falaisa fawqaka shai’un, wa antal-bāṭinu falaisa dūnaka shai’un, iqḍi `anni-daina wa aghnini minal-faqr).”
