Translation

Aishah narrated: “He frowned and turned away” was revealed about Ibn Umm Maktum the blind man. He came to the Messenger of Allah saying: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Guide me.’ At that time, there was a revered man from the idolaters with the Messenger of Allah. So the Messenger of Allah turned away from him and faced the other man, saying: ‘Do you think that there is something wrong with what I am saying?’ He said: ‘No.’ So it was about that that it was revealed.”

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعيدٍ الْأَمَوِيُّ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا مَا عَرَضْنَا عَلَى هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أُنْزِلَ عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى فِي ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ الْأَعْمَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرْشِدْنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْرِضُ عَنْهُ وَيُقْبِلُ عَلَى الْآخَرِ وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَرَى بِمَا أَقُولُ بَأْسًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَفِي هَذَا أُنْزِلَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أُنْزِلَ عَبَسَ وَتَوَلَّى فِي ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ «عبس وتولى» والی سورۃ ( عبداللہ ) ابن ام مکتوم نابینا کے سلسلے میں نازل ہوئی ہے، وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، آ کر کہنے لگے: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے وعظ و نصیحت فرمائیے، اس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس مشرکین کے اکابرین میں سے کوئی بڑا شخص موجود تھا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان سے اعراض کرنے لگے اور دوسرے ( مشرک ) کی طرف توجہ فرماتے رہے اور اس سے کہتے رہے میں جو تمہیں کہہ رہا ہوں اس میں تم کچھ حرج اور نقصان پا رہے ہو؟ وہ کہتا نہیں، اسی سلسلے میں یہ آیتیں نازل کی گئیں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- بعض نے یہ حدیث ہشام بن عروہ سے، انہوں نے اپنے باپ عروہ سے روایت کی ہے، وہ کہتے ہیں «عبس وتولى» ابن ام مکتوم کے حق میں اتری ہے اور اس کی سند میں عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔

Ibn Abbas narrated that : the Prophet said: “You will be gathered barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.” “A woman said: “Will we see” or “look at each other’s nakedness?” He said: “O so-and-so! Every man among them on that Day will have enough to make him careless of others.”

Ibn Umar narrated that: The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever wishes to look at the Day of Resurrection, as if he is seeing it with this eye, then let him recite: ‘When the sun Kuwwirat’ and ‘When the heaven is cleft sunder (Infatarat) and ‘When the heaven is split asunder.’”

Abu Hurairah narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: “Verily, when the slave (of Allah) commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. When he refrains from it, seeks forgiveness and repents, his heart is polished clean. But if he returns, it increases until it covers his entire heart. And that is the ‘Ran’ which Allah mentioned: Nay, but on their hearts is the Ran which they used to earn.

Hammad bin Zaid narrated from Ayub, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar: The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of all tat exists He said: “They will be standing in sweat up to the middle of their ear.” – Hammas said: To us it is Marfu - .

Ibn Umar narrated from the Prophet: ‘They Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of all that exists.’ He said: “One of them will be standing in sweat up to the middle of his ears.”

Aishah said: “I heard that the Messenger of Allah saying: ‘Whoever is interrogated during the reckoning, then he will ruined.’ I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Allah, Blessed is He and Most High, said: ‘As for him who will be given his record in his right hand…” up to His saying: ‘…an easy reckoning.’ He said: ‘That is (only) the presentation.’”
