Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), while he was sitting with a group of his Companions, when they saw a glowing shooting star. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When you saw the likes of this during Jahiliyyah, what would you say about it?' They said: 'We would say that a great man died, or that a great man has been born.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It is not shot due to the death of anyone, nor his coming into life. Rather when our Lord [Blessed is His Name and Most High] decrees a matter, He is glorified by the bearers of the Throne. Then He is glorified by the inhabitants who are below them, then those below them, until such glorification reaches this Heaven. Then the inhabitants of the sixth Heaven ask the inhabitants of the seventh Heaven: What did your Lord say? He said: 'So they inform them; then the inhabitants of each Heaven seek the information, until the news is conveyed to the inhabitants of the Heavens of the earth. The Shayatin try to overhear so they are shot at, so they cast it down to their friends. Whatever they came with is true, as it is, but they distort it and add to it.'

حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ إِذْ رُمِيَ بِنَجْمٍ فَاسْتَنَارَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَقُولُونَ لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يَمُوتُ عَظِيمٌ أَوْ يُولَدُ عَظِيمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُرْمَى بِهِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنَّ رَبَّنَا عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا قَضَى أَمْرًا سَبَّحَ لَهُ حَمَلَةُ الْعَرْشِ ثُمَّ سَبَّحَ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ التَّسْبِيحُ إِلَى هَذِهِ السَّمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ سَأَلَ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ أَهْلَ السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ:‏‏‏‏ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَيُخْبِرُونَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يَسْتَخْبِرُ أَهْلُ كُلِّ سَمَاءٍ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْخَبَرُ أَهْلَ السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَخْتَطِفُ الشَّيَاطِينُ السَّمْعَ فَيُرْمَوْنَ فَيَقْذِفُونَهُ إِلَى أَوْلِيَائِهِمْ فَمَا جَاءُوا بِهِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَهُوَ حَقٌّ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ يُحَرِّفُونَهُ وَيَزِيدُونَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم صحابہ کرام کی ایک جماعت میں تشریف فرما تھے کہ یکایک ایک تارہ ٹوٹا جس سے روشنی پھیل گئی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے لوگوں سے پوچھا: ”زمانہ جاہلیت میں جب تم لوگ ایسی کوئی چیز دیکھتے تو کیا کہتے تھے؟“ انہوں نے کہا: ہم کہتے تھے کوئی بڑا آدمی مرے گا یا کوئی بڑی شخصیت جنم لے گی۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”یہ کسی کے مرنے کی وجہ سے نہیں ٹوٹتا، بلکہ اللہ بزرگ و برتر جب کسی امر کا فیصلہ کرتا ہے تو عرش کو اٹھانے والے فرشتے تسبیح و تہلیل کرتے ہیں، پھر ان سے قریبی آسمان کے فرشتے تسبیح کرتے ہیں، پھر ان سے قریبی، اس طرح تسبیح کا یہ غلغلہ ہمارے اس آسمان تک آ پہنچتا ہے، چھٹے آسمان والے فرشتے ساتویں آسمان والے فرشتوں سے پوچھتے ہیں: تمہارے رب نے کیا کہا ہے؟ ( کیا حکم صادر فرمایا ہے؟ ) تو وہ انہیں بتاتے ہیں، پھر اسی طرح ہر نیچے آسمان والے اوپر کے آسمان والوں سے پوچھتے ہیں، اس طرح بات دنیا سے قریبی آسمان والوں تک آ پہنچتی ہے۔ اور کی جانے والی بات چیت کو شیاطین اچک لیتے ہیں۔ ( جب وہ اچکنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں تو سننے سے باز رکھنے کے لیے تارہ پھینک کر ) انہیں مارا جاتا ہے اور وہ اسے ( اچکی ہوئی بات کو ) اپنے یاروں ( کاہنوں ) کی طرف پھینک دیتے ہیں تو وہ جیسی ہے اگر ویسی ہی اسے پہنچاتے ہیں تو وہ حق ہوتی ہے، مگر لوگ اسے بدل دیتے اور گھٹا بڑھا دیتے ہیں“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: from the Prophet (ﷺ), that he said about this Ayah: 'Then We gave the Book the as inheritance to such of Our worshipers whom We chose. Then of them are some who wrong themselves, and of them are some who follow a middle course, and of them are some who are, by Allah's Leave, foremost in good deeds (35:32). He said: All of these people are of the same rank, and all of them are in Paradise.

Narrated Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri: Banu Salamah's dwellings were on the outskirts of Al-Madinah, so they wanted to relocate closer to the Masjid. Then this Ayah was revealed: 'Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces... (36:12)' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Your steps are recorded, so do not relocate.'

Narrated Abu Dharr: I entered the Masjid when the sun had set, and the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting. He said: 'O Abu Dharr! Do you know where this goes?' I said: 'Allah and His Messenger know better.' He said: 'Indeed it goes to seek permission to prostrate, so it is permitted. And it is as if it has been said to it: Rise from its setting place.' Then he recited: 'That is its fixed course.' He said: That is the recitation of 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: No caller invites to anything except that he is detained along with, on the Day of Resurrection, without parting from it, even if a man invites another man. Then he recited the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: 'But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (37:24 & 25).'

Narrated Ubayy bin Ka'b: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about the saying of Allah, Most High: 'And We sent him to a hundred thousand, or even more (37:147). He said: 'Twenty thousand (more).'
