Ibn Umar narrated: We would sleep in the Masjid during the time of Allah's Messenger and we were young men.

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَنَامُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَنَحْنُ شَبَابٌ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَخَّصَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي النَّوْمِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَتَّخِذُهُ مَبِيتًا وَلَا مَقِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ ذَهَبُوا إِلَى قَوْلِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ.

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانے میں مسجد میں سوتے تھے اور ہم نوجوان تھے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- ابن عمر رضی الله عنہما کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اہل علم میں کی ایک جماعت نے مسجد میں سونے کی اجازت دی ہے، ابن عباس کہتے ہیں: کوئی اسے سونے اور قیلولے کی جگہ نہ بنائے ۱؎ اور بعض اہل علم ابن عباس کے قول کی طرف گئے ہیں۔

Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather (Abdullah bin Amr Al-As), that : Allah's Messenger prohibited the recitation of poetry in the Masjid, and from selling and buying in it, and (he prohibited) the people from forming circles in it on Friday before the Salat.

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated: A man from Banu Khudrah and a man from Banu Amr bin Awf were disputing about the Masjid that was founded upon Taqwa. The man from Banu Khudrah said: 'It is the Masjid of Allah's Messenger.' The other one said that it was Masjid Qub. So they went to ask Allah's Messenger about that. He said: 'It is this - meaning his Masjid - 'and in that one (Masjid Quba) there is much good.'

Abu Al-Abrad the freed slave of Banu Khatmah narrated that he heard Usaid bin Zuhair Al-Ansari - and he was one of the Companions of the Prophet - narrated that : the Prophet said: The Salat in Masjid Quba is like Umrah.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: Salat is this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand Salat in another, except for Masjid Al-Haram.

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: A mount is not saddled (for a journey) except to three Masajid: Al-Masjid Al-Haram, this Masjid of mine, and Masjid Al-Aqsa. [Abu `Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: When the Iqamah is called for Salat do not come to it rushing, rather come to it walking, and while you have tranquility. What you catch of it then pray it, and what you missed of it, then complete it.
