Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather (Abdullah bin Amr Al-As), that : Allah's Messenger prohibited the recitation of poetry in the Masjid, and from selling and buying in it, and (he prohibited) the people from forming circles in it on Friday before the Salat.

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى عَنْ تَنَاشُدِ الْأَشْعَارِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَنِ الْبَيْعِ وَالِاشْتِرَاءِ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنْ يَتَحَلَّقَ النَّاسُ فِيهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ،‏‏‏‏ وَجَابِرٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ هُوَ:‏‏‏‏ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ أَحْمَدَ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذَكَرَ غَيْرَهُمَا يَحْتَجُّونَ بِحَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَدْ سَمِعَ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍوَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ وَمَنْ تَكَلَّمَ فِي حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ إِنَّمَا ضَعَّفَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لِأَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ صَحِيفَةِ جَدِّهِ كَأَنَّهُمْ رَأَوْا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَذُكِرَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عِنْدَنَا وَاهٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ كَرِهَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ الْبَيْعَ وَالشِّرَاءَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبِهِ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْمَدُ،‏‏‏‏ وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ رُخْصَةٌ فِي الْبَيْعِ وَالشِّرَاءِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَيْرِ حَدِيثٍ رُخْصَةٌ فِي إِنْشَادِ الشِّعْرِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ.

عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی الله عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مسجد میں اشعار پڑھنے، خرید و فروخت کرنے، اور جمعہ کے دن نماز ( جمعہ ) سے پہلے حلقہ باندھ کر بیٹھنے سے منع فرمایا ہے۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- عبداللہ بن عمرو بن عاص رضی الله عنہما کی حدیث حسن ہے، ۲- عمرو کے باپ شعیب: محمد بن عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص کے بیٹے ہیں ۱؎، محمد بن اسماعیل بخاری کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کو ( اور ان دونوں کے علاوہ انہوں نے کچھ اور لوگوں کا ذکر کیا ہے ) دیکھا کہ یہ لوگ عمرو بن شعیب کی حدیث سے استدلال کرتے تھے، محمد بن اسماعیل کہتے ہیں کہ شعیب بن محمد نے اپنے دادا عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہما سے سنا ہے، ۳ - جن لوگوں نے عمرو بن شعیب کی حدیث میں کلام کرنے والوں نے انہیں صرف اس لیے ضعیف قرار دیا ہے کہ وہ اپنے دادا ( عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی الله عنہما ) کے صحیفے ( صحیفہ الصادقہ ) سے روایت کرتے ہیں، گویا ان لوگوں کا خیال ہے کہ یہ احادیث انہوں نے اپنے دادا سے نہیں سنی ہیں ۲؎ علی بن عبداللہ ( ابن المدینی ) کہتے ہیں کہ یحییٰ بن سعید ( قطان ) سے منقول ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا: عمرو بن شعیب کی حدیث ہمارے نزدیک ضعیف ہے، ۴- اس باب میں بریدہ، جابر اور انس رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۵- اہل علم میں سے کچھ لوگوں نے مسجد میں خرید و فروخت کو مکروہ قرار دیا ہے، یہی احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کہتے ہیں ۳؎، ۶- اور تابعین میں سے بعض اہل علم سے مسجد میں خرید و فروخت کرنے کی رخصت مروی ہے، ۷- نیز نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے حدیثوں میں مسجد میں شعر پڑھنے کی رخصت مروی ہے ۴؎۔

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated: A man from Banu Khudrah and a man from Banu Amr bin Awf were disputing about the Masjid that was founded upon Taqwa. The man from Banu Khudrah said: 'It is the Masjid of Allah's Messenger.' The other one said that it was Masjid Qub. So they went to ask Allah's Messenger about that. He said: 'It is this - meaning his Masjid - 'and in that one (Masjid Quba) there is much good.'

Abu Al-Abrad the freed slave of Banu Khatmah narrated that he heard Usaid bin Zuhair Al-Ansari - and he was one of the Companions of the Prophet - narrated that : the Prophet said: The Salat in Masjid Quba is like Umrah.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: Salat is this Masjid of mine is better than a thousand Salat in another, except for Masjid Al-Haram.

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: A mount is not saddled (for a journey) except to three Masajid: Al-Masjid Al-Haram, this Masjid of mine, and Masjid Al-Aqsa. [Abu `Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Abu Hurairah narrated that : Allah's Messenger said: When the Iqamah is called for Salat do not come to it rushing, rather come to it walking, and while you have tranquility. What you catch of it then pray it, and what you missed of it, then complete it.
