Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: A beast will emerge from the earth. With it shall be the ring of Sulaiman and the staff of Musa. It will brighten the face of the believer, and stamp the nose of the disbeliever with the ring, such that when the people gather to eat, it will be said to this one: 'O believer! and to that one: 'O disbeliever!'

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَوْسِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَخْرُجُ الدَّابَّةُ مَعَهَا خَاتَمُ سُلَيْمَانَ وَعَصَا مُوسَى فَتَجْلُو وَجْهَ الْمُؤْمِنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَخْتِمُ أَنْفَ الْكَافِرِ بِالْخَاتَمِ حَتَّى إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْخُوَانِ لَيَجْتَمِعُونَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ هَاهَا يَا مُؤْمِنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ هَاهَا يَا كَافِرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ هَذَا:‏‏‏‏ يَا مُؤْمِنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ هَذَا:‏‏‏‏ يَا كَافِرُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ فِي دَابَّةِ الْأَرْضِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِي الْبَابِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ” ( قیامت کے قریب زمین سے ) ایک جانور نکلے گا جس کے پاس سلیمان علیہ السلام کی انگوٹھی ( مہر ) اور موسیٰ علیہ السلام کا عصا ہو گا، وہ اس عصا سے ( لکیر کھینچ کر ) مومن کے چہرے کو روشن و نمایاں کر دے گا، اور انگوٹھی کے ذریعہ کافر کی ناک پر مہر لگا دے گا یہاں تک کہ دستر خوان والے جب دستر خوان پر اکٹھے ہوں گے تو یہ کہے گا: اے مومن اور وہ کہے گا: اے کافر! ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے، ۲- «دابة الأرض» کے سلسلے میں اس سند کے علاوہ دوسری سندوں سے بھی یہ حدیث ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ سے مروی ہے جسے وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں، ۳- اس باب میں ابوامامہ اور حذیفہ بن اسید سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Narrated Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to his uncle: 'Say La Ilaha Illallah and I may bear witness with that, on your behalf, on the Day of Judgement.' So he said: 'If it weren't that the Quraish would insult me (saying): He only said it out of fright then I would delight your eyes.' Then Allah the Mighty and Sublime revealed: Verily, you guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills (28:56).

Narrated Mus'ab bin Sa'd: that his father, Sa'd, said: Four Ayat were revealed about me and he mentioned the story. Umm Sa'd had said: Did not Allah command you to honor (your parents). By Allah! I will not eat or drink anything until I die or you renounce (Islam). He said: So when they wanted to make her eat, they would force her mouth open. So this Ayah was revealed: And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful to his parents; but if they strive to make you associate (partners) with Me, of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not (29:8).

Narrated Umm Hani: that regarding Allah's saying: '...And you practice evil in your meetings... (29:29) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: They would throw pebbles at people of the land and make a mockery of them.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: that regarding Alif Lam Mim. The Romans have been defeated (In the nearest land, and they, after their defeat, will be victorious. Within Bid' years...) (30 1 & 2) The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Abu Bakr about the wager: Why were you not more cautious Abu Bakr? For indeed Al-Bid' refers to what is from three to nine.

Narrated 'Atiyyah: Abu Sa'eed narrated: On the Day of Badr, the Romans had a victory over the Persians. So the believers were pleased with that, then the following was revealed: 'Alif Lam Mim. The Romans have been defeated, up to His saying: 'the believers will rejoice - with the help of Allah... (30:1-5)' He said: So the believers were happy with the victory of the Romans over the Persians.

Narrated Sa'eed bin Jubair: from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding the saying of Allah, Most High: Alif Lam Mim. The Romans have been defeated. In the nearest land (30:1-3) he said: Ghulibat wa Ghalabat (defeated and then victorious). He said: The idolaters wanted the Persians to be victorious over the Romans because they too were people who worshiped idols, while the Muslims wanted the Romans to be victorious over the Persians because they were people of the Book. This was mentioned to Abu Bakr, so Abu Bakr mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he said: 'They will certainly prevail.' Abu Bakr mentioned that to them, and they said: 'Make a wager between us and you; if we win, we shall get this and that, and if you win, you shall get this or that.' He made the term five years, but they (the Romans) were not victorious. They mentioned that to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: Why did you not make it less (than) - He (one of the narrators said): I think he said: ten? He said: Sa'eed said: Al-Bid' is what is less than then - he said: Afterwards the Romans have been victorious. He said: That is what Allah Most High said: 'Alif Lam Mim. The Romans have been defeated' up to His saying: 'And on the day, the believers will rejoice - with the help of Allah. He helps whom He wills (30:1-5).' Sufyan said: I heard that they were victorious over them on the Day of Badr.
